I was able to do it without using this method. Here's how I did it:
I downgraded to B152, once system booted, I was presented with an update to B170 through system update, did the update and once booted, B192 was then the next update. Once booted, was presented with the update to B560, right after system started, updater then showed that I can update to B581.

Note, that I stayed unrooted and with bootloader locked through the whole process. It's a pain in the ass to do it this way but it's worth the shot, it took around one hour but your mileage may vary depending on your Internet speed.
Thanks for advice, but too me it seem easier to do my it my method, cause you do not need to downgrade., probably less risk aslo since every time you update its a risk.. the risk gets smaller if you update system only one time, in case some thing would **** up in the middle of the installation or get stuck.

Thanks @blackfinity I know your method is less painful but I was providing another alternative to the people who want to upgrade but are unable to do it with your method.
Cheers!

B581 on L09c432 is smooth as hell, buttery butter smooth. Get about the same batterylife as B560, around 7 to 8 hours screen on time.. but the smoothness, goddamn. Geekbench gives me slightly lower scores than before, 1750ish vs 1670 in singlescore, and almost 6k in multiscore vs 5600. Don't mind it though, synthetic score vs ux performance is way better in B581 :)

Never even got close to the 7 hour screen on time... Maybe I have been unlucky in the hardware lottery.. maybe I have a variant where the memory use more battery or something etc....
Or it is me who have too many apps installed..

Not sure, what kinds of speed do you get in androbench? I've got about 150 apps installed. I don't let unnecessary apps run in the background, and I've only let a few apps ignore doze.

try to do it after your update fails (the 10% thing) and your phone reboots, then dont let your phone download the update and delete the files inside this folders before you do the guide -> ..\HWFF\null and ..\HwOUC , then start the guide till the last step and then start the download of the firmware on your phone, read the guide exactly
Can't file those folders. Where are they exactly ?

I only have made these 2 steps and now I've an update which is proposed to me. I'm rooted with TWRP, so maybe all this tuto is unecessary, like you can see on the screenshots below.

However I think if I have to make this update, I should install the stock recovery and remove the root by caution.

I think I'll test it this week-end to avoid all issues with my phone in the week, because I need to have a functional phone in this week.
If all works, I'll come back here to report it.

@blackinfinity

After to have tried, result isn't good for me like I wrote below. I don't know the cause. It fails at 71% after another check of package. I have several suspicious.

Suspicious:
  1. My phone. I've always had some problems for anything with it - example: my way to root it doesn't work for me, even all methods, I have to format the data before.
  2. The package size: 796 Mo
  3. Maybe I should have to wait the tomorrow day (like certains)

I give up for now, I took a long time to get it works again, mainly to find my old tuto to root it properly.
About of that, if someone has the same issue than me with his phone. He want to come back on the rooted B560 after fail the B581. And he has lot of difficulty to root his phone... ASK ME! I've a good tuto.

Another reason which does me to give up, I'm not sure that I could root the B581 because we can't install the update_full_NXT-L29xxxB581_hw_eu.zip file via TWRP. And me, I need to can install this file in order to root my phone without risk of bootloop.

However thanks for this tuto!;)

I know, but like I had successfull to have this update via your method, I thought that perhaps it was also possible for rooted device, or at least unlocked. I don't know if someone has succeeded to update his phone by this way and at least unlocked. I tried it by a fresh installation, because try to remove (mainly install a stock boot - due to my damn phone ) has finished in bootloop, so forced to make a fresh install.
The next time, I tried to see how is the downloaded file.
Maybe one day, I'll try with TWRP. If I had not doubted as much of this phone, it would already be done.
I doubt my fail is due to my modified phone.

Regular OTA did'nt work on my Mate 8. So I tried your method 3 times with no sucess: each time, it failed at 71%. I managed to make it work by setting wifi with proxy localhost:8080 instead of changing DNS, as said in firmware finder proxy screen. And the other interesting thing is that I had'nt to switch to 4G at 100% downloaded. It worked like a regular update. My mate 8 is bootloader unlocked and unrooted, but I think it should work with rooted ones as well.
Thank you for your guide because I spent hours trying to update my phone and you helped me finding the solution.
