MIUI 12 Fingerprint Unlock defective

I solved it. Here's my case. (MI 9T PRO FOD failed).
-Received MI9TPRO from customer 2 weeks ago (blank lcd/nodisplay cause by water leak)

Replaced with OLED with biometric support. Bcoz i'm not the owner of coz my fprint failed to unlock. Few days later customer complaint his on-screen FOD not working. (FYI: this my 1st lcdreplacement for on-screen biometric. i just know these FOD issue when customer return-back his phone ask me to fix the fod problem or return back his money.

FYI: I bought in online [OLED+bio support] The quality is good its OEM.

-read about MIUI v11, v12 related issue fod
-i noted the vendor update script/locksettingdb, persist.img..etc from few forum
-the water leak issue also made me think cause the fod failed
-some say fod will only work if lcdscreen support 10finger touch a.k.a original/high price.

-current MIUI 12.0.3
-i deleted owner fod and adding my fprint. I successfull scan, read & add+save my fprint. But still it failed to unlock & not recognise my finger.
-i dloaded app & test touch point. Its only support 5 finger touch not 10.
-update to MIUI 12.0.6 - can read & save but still fod failed

If u are on MIUI12, Flash fastboot rom MIUI 11.0.4 (clean install). Do FOD CIT. It will work.

Then u can update to MIUI 12 or custom rom

hi, i have a big problem!
I replaced the screen (at payment) from authorized xiaomi assistence but is 2 times that they put me a screen that recognize only 5 points touch (and in the first screen there was a problem of AOD).
Now they will replace the screen for the third time! But i think it will have the same problem
They said that Xiaomi Italia send to them the screen ... so it's original!

If the third screen have this issue, is possibile to solve with some script to flash for recognize the 10 points touch?

I wish i could help. Its not lcd screen problem I solved the FOD problem on 5 touch. Doesnt matter support 5 or 10 finger touch. One of xda member from india and iran.

Thank you, for me FOD works after calibration. my problem was of 5 point finger touch instead of 10. Maybe you know if is possibile to fix (how i wrote, they said is original screen issued from Xiaomi)

I had a similar issue, If it worked before upgrading, probably the lockscreen PIN won't let you add a fingerprint. As I have a custom recovery on my device, and it has a file manager, I went in the Data folder and deleted the PIN file, and it worked.

Happened with me also....Its a software problem only. Format and reinstall the ROM...My issue got resolved after complete fresh install

If u are on MIUI12, Flash fastboot rom MIUI 11.0.4 (clean install). Do FOD CIT. It will work.

Then u can update to MIUI 12 or custom rom

Hi brothers.
I will place the only method that worked for me with my Mi 9.
The fix is doing a software calibration after install aftermarket unofficial screen.
I had defective fingerprint issue after replace the screen. I was unable to add fingerprint as well.

Maybe you will have to do it many times until you pass all test steps, dont worry. In time you will made it.

Go to config>about phone>all specs
tap several times on kernel version to get into CIT settings
After that go to 3 dots in upper right corner and go to additional tools > FOG fingerprint calibration
In test page click on first start
It will show a message to put the flash flat.
Get a white papper and fold it.
Click in start and quickly put the folded withe paper covering all green button area and hold the paper (without touch any part of screen with your hand, just the paper) untill it asks for black flat without error.
If u got error start the proccess again until reach the black flat step.
When in black flat step, here are the tricks.
Click to start and quickly put your finger in vertical position (must be thumb finger in vertical position only) on green button and hold it placed until you pass performance chart test ...if all success u will see end test message.
Here is the second trick....when u see the end test message.... dont exit, just reboot the phone.
when it restarts go to setting, enable and add fingerprint. Voila!

I'm sure your solutions work as defined.
I want to add my 2 cents to this.
For second trick be careful to not perform test fod before recalibrating as it will lock your device with code 0000 and will crash device when you try to unlock screen. Solution is to unplug finger sensor(but you need to disassemble).(i didn't go with it)

When my display cracked recently and I went to unofficial service, after replacement my fingerprint sensor also didn't work.

However technician told me it doesn't need recalibration, just the correct version display for this model, probably with serial codes(maybe there are for pros, not pros, colors black,red, blue, i don't know). So there's deeper knowledge to this, I think.
Check with your technician or order screen for your version(pro|not pro), maybe color variant(?). Great service expressgsm.eu, fingerprint works but have noticed some ghost touches when outside - will verify that

As of December 2022, I had to wait 2 weeks for shipment probably from china and there are shortages as only mine arrived.

For me there is no "FOG fingerprint calibration" in additional tools.
