This is my first time updating an Xiaomi.eu weekly would just like to check before I update.

Just downloaded the 5.11.19 from xiaomi.eu, Should I place it in my my phones root directory and install via TWRP and not the updater app?

Will all my apps and playstore etc continue to work as they do now? Sorry for the newbie question but I am! my Mi4c came pre-installed with version .eu version of 5.10.8 and TWRP so I've not had to flash anything yet.

I've already done a TWRP backup. I have a notification of an OTA update but that seems to be the global developer version of 5.11.19 not the EU.

Thanks,

Yes, just place it anywhere on your internal memory, boot to TWRP, install it and wipe cache and dalvik cache (it doesnt matter if you do this before or after you flashed the new Rom). You can find cache and dalvik cache wipe under "wipe" --> "advanced wipe" :)

Thanks for that but have just seen the stable version that came out yesterday so might hang on and hopefully someone like Xiaomi.eu de-bloat it and stick gapps on it and I'll install that. Hopefully it will have full speed play store downloads etc.

Going from the eu rom to a stable rom, I assume its best to so a full wipe and start fresh? I know I'll lose root but I'm not using it atm.

Just updated to 5.11.19 Xiaomi.eu rom and now my TWRP screen is non-responsive. Had version 2.8.7.1 installed and have had to re-flash 2.8.7.0 to get TWRP working. Even tried flashing TWRP 2.8.7.1 back on but its still broke.

Anyone else have this problem?

I only updated because I filmed a video and noticed my audio was very very quiet, hoped the update might fix it but it hasn't. Hoping the microphone on the back of my phone isn't duff.

Normally the solution to this is wait. Sometimes it can take up to 5 minutes for the touchscreen in TWRP to work. Certainly it does on my 2.8.7.1 version.

Wonder if that new.download manager will fix the slow playstore downloads. Will flash later tonight if I get time.

I've had full speed chrome downloads since the last weekly (.19) just slow playstore downloads to fix and then this phone is perfect for me, nothing else I use seems to have any bugs.

Are all the download slow?
For me not.

It seems slower with wifi and slower with "little" apps ansd maybe with high demand apps.
Sometimes I got 1100, sometimes it doesn't get over 200-300...

All playstore downloads seem slow yes, even tried some of the larger games that are top ranked and they download about 800K/s. Strangely on my works wifi I have seen it higher but at home where my max speed in crome etc is about 11MB/s but playstore 800K/s

Excuse the double post, just updated to the latest weekly .26 and playstore downloads are still slow.
