I think I've managed to solve my own problem. The issue is, I'm guessing, that apps can request SU permissions but the system isn't replying to the requests for some reason, even though the su binary is present. The solution is to download the zip from here and flash it via recovery. After rebooting you'll have the Superuser app, which will handle SU requests like in other ROMs instead of the default Security app. But hopefully the OP will release a fix soon so this workaround is no longer needed.Hmm, it seems that all is not well. Even when Superuser Permissions are set to "on", and apps that require root access (Titanium Backup, Root Browser, etc) are granted them when the request dialog pops up, they are still failing silently.
