What's Working:

- Recorder
- Torch

Installation:
- Download ROM and gapps
- Place on SDCARD
- Wipe factory rest 2x
- Flash MIUI rom
- Reboot into rom
- Then Reboot into recovery
- Flash gapps
- Reboot
- Enjoy

Bug:
Black background after full wipe. (Reboot then it will be ok. )

What recovery should be used as a starting point?

I think its based on kitkat, so anything above cwn 6.0.4.5

Love MIUI, and for the fact that it has been built on kitkat..........had to revert because music play stopped at a point and does not play again. Then have to delete the NFC.apk so i could use the settings.
Other than that. everything works well for me.

Sure will wait for MIUI and hope it gets here for our lovely S2.
