Hi dori,
I always keep an eye on this thread when you first release your kernel. But I'm already on nougat that time. So when I saw you start push your nougat kernel source on github today. I decided to complete myself, I can't wait to get the dorimanx power on my phone.
The kernel runs so far so good on my phone, really a good kernel with aroma installer. Hope to see the final version and more features on the kernel.
Great news dori
I hope someone will write few words about the steps to do from
MM 3.5.4 rooted +dori kernel to N 4.1.6 rooted +dori kernel to avoid problems
Well i strongly suggest not to do it, as things still in motion, there is an issue with wifi, i am working on it, much changed and not pushed to git, do not offer that build to others, if you like to be beta tester then pm me, so we can setup more fast communication channel.
And even then i will ask to test build that work! I am still not there... I think gcc 7.1.0 is not supported by N source.
Considering that stock made with gcc 4.9 its not a surprise
Dori one question are u steel recommend the same twrp recovery that we had in mm 3.04.1 or to moov to new one, and u mean that all data and apps that we have in mm stay intactWell its was quite easy.
Downloaded full image for 4.1.6
Flashed it via twrp as normal zip, flashed recovery img as image flash without rebooting!
Stock rom kill recovery.
Cleaned dalvik and cache.
Rebooted, rom booted to N. All work and data is intact.
No issues.
Rebooted to recovery, flashed supersu and viper sound pack.
Booted, all good, root + great sound restored.
Then flashed my test build and still fixing issues with wifi all the rest is working as should...
With stock kernel wifi is stable.
It's recommended to update you're TWRP to last 3.1.1-0 official version or Blu_Spark recovery. @dorimanx looking forward to test you're N kernel when released,Dori one question are u steel recommend the same twrp recovery that we had in mm 3.04.1 or to moov to new one, and u mean that all data and apps that we have in mm stay intact
Did you try.on this kernel? Because dorimax doesn't have 7.1.1 kernel yet@dorimanx I. There's one major concern I must share with you is that the apps like kernel Adiutor, truecaller, supersu, my data manager, and many other apps that are bound to start on boot don't start automatically. These apps are needed to be started manually and I have also attached the screenshot for the same which do show that they receive the boot completed state but don't start on boot. The same issue persists with stock kernel and so far what I have found is that it is kernel related only.
This is related to Kernel on Nougat 7.1.1,also plz see the screenshots below.
Not yet, I am just reporting this to him.Did you try.on this kernel? Because dorimax doesn't have 7.1.1 kernel yet
I have had a lot of discussion regarding this issue in various threads, but this is not a kernel related thing. It is due to some ROM Feature that doesn't allow most of the apps to start on boot. Funk Wizard guided me and a lot of others for a work around. This is a sort of app management feature that aggressively closes apps and put them into Hibernation, also some weird mechanism chooses which app to start.we will dig in to this when kernel will be ready for public, its BAD. we need some things to start on boot.
actually some of my apps start as should on boot right now, with stock kernel.
but i will test all apps you wrote.
thanks for info.
