update 4.4.2 ( germany rom B7 ) and solve this problem ! :good:

Alsaw got this problem after uppdating some apps in google play..
Now i have read in diffrent sites about this and this is what i think

Since monst users have diffrent thoghts on wich app dose drain and is the problem i think it might have to do with Google play as usual..

Any ways with a cashe wipeput and removal of the battery my problem where fixed. didnt uninstall any apps!
But im 100% sure that i got the problem after uppdating 5-6 apps wich none of them i did even start after the uppdate. so it should be google play or some cashe problem!!!
Most users got it fixed after cashe wipeout

mm-qcamera-daemon mediaserver drain issue solved

My mm-qcamera-daemon / mediaserver issue was resolved by removing SKYPE in KitKat 4.4.

I had the problem every day until I un-installed skype.

I believe its a KitKat 4.4 issue but its triggered by Skype or any other app that is affected by the bug.

I have a T-Mobile Note 3

mm-qcamera-daemon : I fix it in my phone.

Hi
I have a Note 3 N9005 and it works great until 1 week ago. After that it drains the charge quickly and become hot and also the camera didn't work properly and one morning it take a picture automatically when I was in the bed ( I hear the sound of camera when I was awake in the bed ! )

How I fix my Problem :
1. I uninstall the "Clean Master".
2. then turn off the phone and remove the battery and put it in it's place again and turn on it.
3. there was no more "mm-qcamera-daemon" process.

I started having this problem recently. I searched for the solution but no luck. My understanding is that this is linked with 4.4.4 update. Problem occurs when one of your installed app tries to access camera. I unistalled Skype but that didn't work. I checked and around 32 apps on my phone had access to my camera and it was impossible to check which app is causing this problem.
My solution to this was uninstalling the viber. I remember when viber was updated last time I started receiving *cannot access camera *error on my screen.
In short, this error will remain until you delete the app which is trying to access your camera. It depends on each handset/device as each device is using different app to access camera. It could be Skype, viber, snapchat, yahoo messenger etc.
This looks like a bug with 4.4.4 where camera access to apps is causing this. I hope this helps.

Hello,

Did you try to greenify app by app in order to check which apk is messing you ?
Or try to freeze one by one with titanium backup maybe.

Viber did this problem in my nexus 5.

Recently I encounter the same battery life problem.
After uninstalling Viber the problem was gone for the all last week.
Today i reinstall Viber to validate it is the one to blame and the cc-qcamera...
Problem was back.
I believe the problem started in the last Viber update because i was
Using it for log time.

Greenify is the key !

Hey people,
I had the same problem on S4,S5 and Note 3. I've already tried all the solutions i found here but the process was always there x(
...so here what i figured out :
ALL apps that use (Dropbox,Viber,Tango,Yahoo,What's App....) the Camera App could cause this process to appear and obviously we can't uninstall all this Apps ^_^ so i tried to hibernate all this App using Greenify and it works :D
I've tried this on multiple Samsung devices and it worked for each one of them :)
So solution is :
1 - Install Greenify and Hibernate all Apps using Camera specially Social Apps
2- Wipe cache ( Recovery )
3- Recalibrate the battery ( Battery Calibration App )

And you're good to go :D

If you have this issue try to search your phone for zero length image files and delete them. Then restart the device. I've found a 0 lenght jpeg under viber temp folder. I removed it and all worked fine after all.

Regards,
Cina.

I realized something, my Yahoo Messenger Video plugin was crashing and probably causing the battery drain.
After uninstalling it, issue resolved. Hope it helps...

    Nexus 5 Battery drain

I had this problem for several days. Shifting to ART, clearing cache, rebooting to safe mode did not help.
Removed skype and Instagram ,battery drain stopped. you can try removing these apps.

@Obka 4.4.2 is great. There is no reason not to try it! ?
