Problem with Facebook API. Probably Facebook updated their API stuff..

1st problem - Authorization Code via Browser
After Facebook said "success", I copied the full URI including "http://www." and also without it then I clicked "Paste & Authorize" but it's not able to paste the authorization code. I tried pasting the URI in my text editor, and it works, I can see the URI.

2nd problem - when using Internal
the (your)browser form froze and I have to soft reset to close the "Authorise Access" and "Facebook Tab Settings" forms.

1st problem - it shouldn't matter too much if you paste all of the url or just the end part (as long as it has the access code bit), it will look for the section it needs and use it. Unfortunately I don't have my WM device with me, so hopefully someone can confirm or not if the authorisation is still working (I'll try to test it when I can).

2nd problem - internal authorisation uses the compact .net browser control which in later versions of WM has become very buggy (MS messed it up). Some login pages work better than others, but it isn't very good (hence why I had to use the external method as an option).

Another thing you can try is to ensure you've logged into facebook on the device through the webpage and also clearing the app from your facebook settings if it is in there (which will hopefully allow to you start new).

Fair enough, I think I must look for the "=" character and take the code to the right of it. The "#_=_" appears to be new. Will update the FAQ and 1st page! Thanks.

Copying all but the "#_=_" is how I was able to get log in to work for the tab and XDAFb. I had noticed that looked new to me and just tried excluding it and it worked. I posted there in response to someone having the same problem, but forgot to post here. Sorry for not sharing here.

No problem, explains the issues which people have been having, glad there is at least a work around.

1. I have installed both cabs, (one on SD Card)
Softreset

2. Add the FB Tab
Softreset

3. Delete the xml file
Softrest

--> everytime the FB tab freezes Sense, i was able to run through all the tabs , but when i stopped on the FB tab, Sense freezes

I use home tab cookie und Sense 2.5.2012 1429 . 0

No worries, hopefully I can recall enough to work out the issue.
1st insure you install to your phone memory (uninstall and reinstall if required) - I can't remember now if it forces it anyway. Then re-run the SenseUtil app.

Also, worth having at look at:

I'll have a think about what else it might be and let you know if I think of anything.

that works, i had the small 090EF4F3_manila File. I replaced the one and the xml file, there is no freezing anymore, BUT now:

the menu item does not work ... and i see all birthdays of my contacts (nit FB friends), but i have disabled :

Hide facebook events
- Disables events being shown on the facebook tab.

AND

Event Notice Period (days)
- Specify the number of days before an event is due to occur before it is displayed on the tab. --> 1 day

i really don´t wnat to see the birthsdays .... i have them in the Sense Calendar .....

so can you help me again???

I guess you've solved the issue in the screenshot.

I think with the events, this support wasn't put in for the 192x patch, only what was needed to allow it to work was done (the files were quite different it wasn't practical to implement the features since I had no way to test - I didn't have 192x type sense to use [sense changes requires a lot of trial and error to implement]).

Hopefully that is ok.

Not heard there was an issue with the Menu Softkey before, you might fix it by forcing sense to regenerate the manilafull.xml file again (the menu is defined partly in the the xml files which get pulled into this). It sounds like it is not finding the menu that is referenced in the 192x code.

OK i don't know what's wrong lately with the facebook tab on my phone but i'm running windows 6.5 with sense and right now running this rom

ELEGANCIA Rom Series for HTC HD2

For some reason and it happended with another rom to but i can't get the pictures to load on the contacts. I can get there updates but it just won't update to use there facebook picture. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

Hopefully someone will know the answer to this. I can't recall if it was solved or not. I can suggest you try seeing if adding a contact and letting it attempt to link and connect automatically. Also you can try adding contact pictures into the fbcontacts folder in the windows folder (path from memory).

I am so happy someone was able to find the fix for the authori issue. My new and only other issue is I can't seem to get my FB tab to update anything except my status. Anyone else having this problem?

You will have to add phone contacts for each of your friends you want to see, and link them the same way.

This is HTC's design, intended to give you updates of your most important friends (and also to keep the number of updates lower - it takes a while if you add too many). Note, due to their fb settings there were still some friends who's updates I still couldn't see through HTCs facebook engine.

Hello, does anybody know how to erase all my settings in FBtab?? I have to unninstall it because i had problems with pictures and albums, and when I reinstall it (after deleting all FBtab files) i still have my settings.
