I believe Knox is tripped when you unlock the bootloader or flash any firmware that isn't 100% stock. So that being said installing ANY rom or custom software eg magisk or recovery eg twrp will trip Knox.

Once knox has been tripped there are ways to get almost all apps to still work, eg samsung health, secure folder etc. The only app that really will never work again on a knox tripped device is samsung pay (although Google pay will still work so long as you pass safety net, which can be done using magisk).
