bootloop after flashing kot49h-Tether with cwm

Same here.

Works for me. What I did:

• 
  Downloaded fresh factory image nakasig KOT49H https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#nakasigkot49h
  Flashed only bootloader-tilapia-4.23.img and system.img

Here I've got clean, stock ROM

• 
  Rooted with cf-auto-root
  Flashed with TWRP Tether mod and clean dalvik

That's all ... and works great.

Thank you,I did the same yesterday,just used NRT to root,and CWM as recovery.
I flashed your mod successfully,then after rebooting to system and back to CWM I flashed GuyAdams' SMS Tether zip.
Now I have working WiFi hotspot and SMS in Hangouts.

Edit:4th time flashing made it work,using CWM.
Now how to combine this with working SMS mod by GuyAdams http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2535586

finally, it works by the following：
1. flash kot49h-Tether with TWRP
2. wipe cache&dalvik cache
3. reboot

Flashed in tarp, wiped cache&dalvik. After powering up n7 I see the default SMS app, but no tether options. I'm on at&t prepaid.

EDIT: forgot to say that tether options are there if I re move the sim card. Also on factory KOT49H.

Do I need to root my device + TWRP to flash this mod?

What is the difference between 49H, 16O and 16s ?
I wouldn't ask if it would be described in a readme.txt attached to each of the zips.

Install the tethering mod

Hi All

I am new to this. I just rooted my nexus 7 2012 (3G+WiFi) using skipsoft toolkit.
I want to use my tab for tethering. I downloaded the kot49h (for kitkat 4.4) mod from the link provided.

Can anyone please tell me how to install this mod in my tab. (using skipsoft toolkit).
