I have attached the filed zipped(not flashable).

LOL that's funny. :D

I'm definitely intrigued... I may poke around a bit and I'm definitely keeping an eye on this thread.

Edit: So this attached photo... This is all default camera settings? Sharpness isn't turned down? Is auto-enhance still off? If it is on, what would it look like with auto-enhance off and all photo settings set to their default of zero?

The images sound about right; however, the video bit rate should be roughly around 16-20. I went ahead and flashed the mod itself and everything worked fine on the latest CleanROM and BAMF ROM. The only thing you have to worry about is the cut off letters, but that's not a big deal at all.

Here's some images... I don't know if you can see them but it shows the cut off letters and bit rate of the video.

That first image is so tinyyy but I see what you mean, on right side of the landscape. Not a huge deal, I know what those options say.

I just did a quick scan through the XML on my CleanROM and the one attached. Looks like only four lines were changed (I did skim a lot of the 480 stuff...):

HTML:
<ImageEncoding quality="100" />
<ImageEncoding quality="100" />
<ImageEncoding quality="100" />
<ImageDecoding memCap="500000000" />

Where it used to say 90/80/70 and "20000000"

Edit: 4 lines in two places.

Sweet, those pictures look awesome! Very little noise!

Ugh when I first got the phone I enabled widescreen because I thought for some reason that was the full resolution, as we have widescreen phones, and regular mode didn't fill the screen in all the way. I'm so glad I finally figured it out. So much noise + cropped to be faux-widescreen early on... X.X

I don't get it... are you saying that with this mod you can take pictures at higher than the default maximum of 8MP?

Not more than 8mp... it just takes away the compression when the camera saves the image.

Hmm wonder which version of BAMF poster #3 flashed it on.

No. The image themselves are a bit too compressed (for our liking). Out of the box, there's a lot of noise in images. So to eliminate those things, it's recommended to turn off Auto-Enhance, and reduce the sharpness to either -1 or -2. I personally find -2 sharpness to lose too much detail. -1 is not too noisy, but still lacks some detail. I'm no hardware / photography expert, but it seems the Rez just compresses the images too much, or does something that we are trying to rectify. I'm willing to bet our hardware is good enough to take better pictures out of the box. That's what we're going for.

There's actually a whole thread on XDA somewhere of someone who combed over all the settings of the Camera and has really great recommendations on settings. It just requires constantly changing settings. I'm happy with the shots that I get on Auto settings, just not happy about the compression/image noise.

Hey guys thanks for the clarification. Yes, I do agree that there is too much graininess and noise in the images I capture when you see them at full resolution. I was still extremely impressed with the Rezound's camera, but I will definitely give this a shot and see if it improves the grainy noise a bit.
