your video still on 1280x720 @25 FPS
strange, when playing in windows media player or vlc it says 19fps and it lags allthough i played it on my pc!!!

tried the mod on jboogie3s blurry ginger v2.0 (which bases on 4.5.1-134) and im restoring my miui 1.7.1 image at the moment :(
to be clear, it does work and it looks great!!! BUT the videos lag like hell no metter which settings i choose...
any clues??? walter79???

I have no lag with stock 4.5.1-134 rom. Could you test 720p on this rom?

Did your CPU run @ 1000 Mhz and what class has your SDcard?

my cpu runs @ 1,2ghz and i have a 16gb class 10 sdcard... best conditions i'd say :D
perhaps i should patch my read_ahead_kb value to 3072 to increase the performance of my sdcard though i don't think this is the problem.
does it play smoothly on your defy, walter??? if yes, what is your configuration?

but at th moment my defy is bricked because of my stupidness...
i restored my miui backup over leaked gingerbread rom --> stuck on m-logo
still at work, can't do anything

Well, I guess it's because of the auto variable while video in recording processing.
Here's the video settings of my lgcamera-pro which took the video earlier.

Walter, could you list up your lgcamera settings here so we all can test and compare. Or yours same as my settings too?

Why only 4Mbit for video?

What best then? 10Mbit?

We can make some test. 4 Mbit and 10Mbit both are working good.

I use a class 4 sdcard.

Video

16 kbit/s – videophone quality (minimum necessary for a consumer-acceptable "talking head" picture using various video compression schemes)
128 – 384 kbit/s – business-oriented videoconferencing quality using video compression
1.15 Mbit/s max – VCD quality (using MPEG1 compression)[15]
3.5 Mbit/s typ - Standard-definition television quality (with bit-rate reduction from MPEG-2 compression)
9.8 Mbit/s max – DVD (using MPEG2 compression)[16]
8 to 15 Mbit/s typ – HDTV quality (with bit-rate reduction from MPEG-4 AVC compression)
19 Mbit/s approximate - HDV 720p (using MPEG2 compression)[17]
24 Mbit/s max - AVCHD (using MPEG4 AVC compression)[18]
25 Mbit/s approximate - HDV 1080i (using MPEG2 compression)[17]
29.4 Mbit/s max – HD DVD
40 Mbit/s max – Blu-ray Disc (using MPEG2, AVC or VC-1 compression)[19]

Alright... Will test on different Mbit settings. The video file size is almost double between 5Mbit and 10Mbit from my earlier test. But I will do some more testing under a bright sun tomorrow morning.

Just to let you know the 720p mod is damn working now... Great!

Edit: tested 13Mbit setting under the same 30sec recording. Size is 40mb!! Huge man! I must prepare 32GB memory card for this...

You dont know what that means ,right?
13 MBITS is = to 1664 kBytes per second ..
So the formula is VIDEO BITRATE x video lenght= video size in kB... in this case 13(1664)x30= ~49920 or 49MB

PLEASE , do some landscape video recording or if you cant do that just go out(in the park..) on day light !

And yes it says in video details that the movie is recorded in max 19fps

This is what I intended to test tomorrow morning under the sun or some landscape view..

Can you explain why it's not recorded at 30 fps even setting is at 30fps??

like the german saying: i jump in the triangle!!!!

cant get 720p recording to work smoothly on my red lense defy! the recorded vids are still lagging terribly. i don't understand... why does it work smoothly on your devices but not on mine?

here is what i did:

1. flashed rooted nadroid backup of 4.5.1-134 then flashed fixed sbf
2. rebooted set the phone up (sync etc.)
3. activated usb-debugging and installed 2ndinit 1.8 (chose bootmenu 0.86)
4. deaktivated usb-debugging and rebooted
5. flashed walter's 720p mod and set up overclocking in bootmenu:

clk/vsel1:300/23
clk/vsel2:600/32
clk/vsel3:1000/52
clk/vsel4:1200/66

6. rebooted and installed latest lgcamera pro from marked
7. set video recording to: 1280x720, h.264, mp4, 10mbit, 30fps
(also tried 4 and 13mbits as well as 25fps and auto fps)

--> still, best framerate i got was 19fps :confused::(:confused:

btw. the preview picture starts lagging a bit after i press the record button.

what is the best framerate you achieved? 25fps... 30fps???
is it possible that there are other hardware differences apart from green/red lense?
any clues?

thanks.

did you try to set vsel3 to 800/45 and vsel4 to 1000/52?

Did you tried a different sdcard?
