Tried Version 4.8.

Problem inside the app solved, covers shown for each song. Very nice color changing ;)

But now, the widget on homescreen launcher never shows a cover. The Version 4.7 does it.

Very strange. Any suggestions / solutions?

is there an app that will recognize the sub woofer out on my stereo and give me a level control for it?
I have the stereo below installed - the sub out goes to my amp and sub in my boot. Problem is i cannot turn the sub up (OR DOWN) so cannot really heat it at all unless i turn the HU volume up - but then i get distortion on the other speakers.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01CGA5DIU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

i have seen a couple of Pumpkin ones which have a sub control built in and i think if i cannot find an app that will recognise my sub and give me the ability to control it then i will have to send the above unit back and get that...

the only other option is to buy a manual control for £30 or so..

can any one offer me some advice? i am very happy with the benefits of having android in my car but i really need to get the sub working otherwise whats the point in having all the gadgets but the music sounds ****e...

thanks in advance

The MCU controls the audio, the only way around it is to do the 7floor sound mod which gives Android control of the audio enabling all the functions of the audio IC.

ok sounds like that means i need to root it right?

would buying a manual line control with a control knob do the job instead? what level comes out of these stereos by default between 0-10? if i put a line knob on there and put it to 9 would it send more to the sub than it does right now? right now i can hardly hear it unless i turn the main volume up

Yeah, youd need to root and do a slight hardware mod, but its worth it. I guess a line control knob would work, but the audio mod is a much better solution.

ok thanks.

but my maion question i need answered- will the control knob, on max, give me a higher output to my rear sub than i am already achieving going from sub out direct to amp without a control?

hi,

i have looked into this further and from what i can see, if the HU has android 5 and above the firmware does not include the seperate subwoofer control. however, if you look at the stereo below with Android 4, it seems to have seperate sub control, crossovers for the speakers and everything. i can return the one i have now and simply replace it with this to give me what i need.....can anyone confirm? i have also read the sub out delivers 4v...

No MTCB or MTCC head unit has separate sub woofer control, the only way to add it is to do @7floor's sound mod.

The headunit in your link is not an MTC unit.

Ask for a screenshot of the settings/about screen and then try and find it in the Android Auto General Forum, or just see find it in there.

But, I would stick with your unit and do 7floor's mod, its very, very good because Android then has full control of the sound processing, not some low spec MCU.

ok, but i dont think i would be confident enough to do anything with the hardware (eg soldering etc).

can you give me the link to the instructions?
