I really don't know what you are all doing wrong.

Copy MTCScreenClock.apk to /system/app (this will overwrite the existing one so back it up)
Change permissions of MTCScreenClock.apk to 644

Install xposed-mtc-music.apk
Go into xposed installer and activate xposed-mtc-music.apk

create a folder on your external_sd and name it mtc-music
copy mtc-music.ini to the folder you created.

Make sure you have the correct files for the speedo you use. There are 2 different set of files. One for KM/h and MPH.

You can find the files on Malaysk rom thread.

I can't see speed, the one with double 0 is when stopped, the other is in movement...

I have never created a chrome surround for Alfa so if you have created it yourself then it is your problem and the fact that you never asked my permission to use it then you really are on your own.

All the screen clocks I have created with a chrome surround work, except when people try to use them on a 1024 unit, which they do not work on and if I remember correctly you have a 1024 unit. I stated these screen clocks don't work on 1024 because I never had testers so please stop asking me to fix the errors you have created yourself..

I don't know about most people, but after a dozen or so attempts, this is the first time I saw the following step;
create a folder on your external_sd and name it mtc-music
copy mtc-music.ini to the folder you created.
In looking at the How To document, I can see how the author THOUGHT that was explicitly stated, but I never took it to mean that I had to create a new folder.

Anyway, thanks for providing this step. Now I get to decide if I want to keep it at MPH when my car's speedometer disagrees by a couple mph.

Your car speedo might disagree but that doesn't make your car speedo correct.

I made it very clear that they disagree and did not state which one, if either, was accurate.

As it is easier to remove a program the head unit than it is to remove my car's speedometer, I would act accordingly.

While I'm not overly surprised that the GPS and speedometer give different figures, I was expecting them to be closer. The KPH seemed to be spot on (but difficulty to read k/h on my car's speedometer might have affected my opinion) and there was a 2 mph difference at 20 mph. That's an alarming difference of 10%. Maybe the accuracy will be better or at least unchanged at higher speeds.

Worse case scenario is that the GPS speed continues to show marginal difference of a lower amount and my fiance thinks I'm driving slower than I actually am. I can accept that. ;)

I suppose it also depends on the car manufacturer and your GPS signal. At 60mph I have about a 2mph difference which is more than acceptable for me. Personally I think the screen clock is a little bit more accurate than the speed TomTom indicates.

There are too many variables really. General thumb or rule is to convert from kmh to mph you multiply by 1.6. The screen clock as far as I know will only allow for a single decimal place but you can certainly try editing the mtc-music.ini file and try 1.6????

That would be fine for me as well.

I originally had it out to six places, but that was when I was not installing things correctly. I'm sure that my "working" install is just 1.6 Depending on how far off things are at high speeds, I might test a more accurate calculation.

It makes sense that it would be only one decimal place. I have trouble believing that the author would put so much work into the conversion but then use an imprecise calculation just to save four keystrokes.

Not a problem. It might be a couple of days as I'm snowed under at the minute.
Snowed IN? Wow! where are you? I live in Utah and we have just started to get some snow around 7,000 feet. My house is around 4900 feet.
Just don't eat the Yellow Snow and those little larger chocolate looking M&Ms are NOT M&M's, so don't eat them!

I finally had a reason to drive out of town. Between 45 and 75 there is a difference of 0-2 mph. I am quite satisfied.
