This app is only for Android. For Iphone there was AppRadio extensions but that has long been dead.
Which app are you exactly using?I've been using ARU with my appradio 2 for years now through many different phones. I recently got a Note 8. what settings do i need to make this 18:9 aspect ratio work? not sure what i'm doing wrong but even after going through calibration i can't get the touch input correct. its not precise enough to select an individual app. swiping the screen works fine. i assume it is because the picture does not fill the entire appradio screen
How is the phone's screen cast? Via Miracast or wired HDMI adapter?ARUnchained Reloaded
using the app SecondScreen which you can auto change resolutions with when casting i finally got it working, but it is not nearly as easy now as a non 18:9 phone. the main reason being my dpi gets messed up every time now when using it. is there something i'm missing in ARU that it should be able to handle without using secondscreen?
to try to describe the problem i have only running ARU with the 18:9 phone screen when it casts to the appradio 2 the phone screen does not fill the entire appradio 2 screen. there are black bars on the top and bottom because of the stupid aspect ratio. so when i try to calibrate the screen the touches are off because of this.
The connection should work automatically, once you input the Miracast device name, about 75% of the time. The rest of the time, you'll have to manually select the device to cast to. As for aspect ratio issues due to 18:9, you'll have to offset the touches for the right two dots. Just keep moving your finger touch location slightly more left of the right dots until the touch registers. Do the calibration only after you convert the screen resolution to 16:9 in the cast settings on the phone (which must be done manually each time). I have no experience using Second Screen with this phone as it is not rooted, so I would recommend not using it on your end (edit: at least, I cannot help you with using it).
There is a thread devoted to this application and Android sticks, so I would search for it and posit the question there for more precise help and advice with sticks. As for the phone battery, mirroring the screen takes a lot of juice, and replenishing it without fast-charge is not simple. Even then, your phone may overheat if the screen is still on (which it likely is) while operating with mirroring. It's just something you'll have to deal with unless you decide to use a stick.Hi im using app radio 3 da110. I got both apps unchained and unchained rootless. When i use hdmi mhl cinnection the charge is not much. And it will discharge the phone. I try the mira cast. And charhe phone from car 12v but its the same.. got some ideas? I thinking about to buy the android stick. Is it work good? Witch android stick is the best to buy for app radio? Thabks a lot! Unchained very great app! Great to use phone mirror on my car 2din lcd thanks!
It's not available. The only way to get it, is to reverse engineer it. Which I did to be able to make an alternate AppRadio app. It was a lot of work and one of my trade secrets so I am not going to publish it, sorry.Has the serial port profile communication been documented anywhere? I'm interested in controlling a raspbery pi3b+ or other bluetooth enabled single-board-computer with the touchscreen in my AVH-8500. It would be amazing if there were a linux driver out there already but I haven't had any luck searching google and github.
