Some background here.

Spanish users have an issue with wifi reception since the first version of COS and CM. Lately, Cyanogenmod developers discovered that the bug consists in three missing spaces in lines 352, 353, 354 and 355 in android_kernel_cyanogen_msm8974/netwireless/db.txt, as u can check here:

Why do I tell u that? Just because CM fixed it, and now we have great wifi connection but, by flashing your mod/boot.img/kernel, we lose the fix, obviously.

We would thank you a lot if you could re-add the fix to your mod so we can use it too. We follow u closely, guys but loads of users don't usually participate due to a language limitation, but we always comment in our spanish forums that we thank u a lot your hard work and development.

Cheers.

@MrColdbird a updated cm kernel version would be fine. Got some strange WiFi behavior with mod that is already fixed in the latest cm kernel.
Not happening. The capacitive touch feature is in the kernel. Swapping it out would remove the feature entirely. I might rebase the mod on the latest ZUI kernel though which should fix the WiFi issue as well.

I've tried this on CM13 but it doesn't work. Phone won't boot.

I prefer the actions from this fix than the ones in Mr Coldbird's awesome unofficial CM13.

Update on this for those interested.

I managed to map the button configuration I wanted through modifying fpc1020tp.kl file. Again, this was as a result of some instructions given by Mr Coldbird in another thread. He really is the man!

Description
This mod restores the Fingerprint reader's capacitive touch functionality.

Setup / Download
Just flash the ZIP file with TWRP on top of the Cyanogen OS 12.1 YOG4PAS3OH build.
Should you be running CM 12.1 or other CM-based ROMs, use this ZIP file instead.

Default Button Mapping
  • Left swipe: Back
  • Right swipe: Recent Apps
  • Tap: Home
Button Keycodes
These keycodes are only useful for people that wish to remap the buttons to custom actions by editing the Generic.kl file.
  • Left swipe: 254
  • Right swipe: 249
  • Tap: 158
  • Finger Detected (unmapped by default): 744
I just got my Z1 and updated it to the most recent Version of COS. I noticed the lack of the touch function when I was about to show it :D
Just flashed everything and it's working as described. I might be wrong but in the original setup of COS- the single tap was "back"? Can you describe how to edit the keys by myself?
And of course- you need a cup of coffee- let me know!;)

Edit: Cup of coffee ist already on it's way ;) Danke dir!
