All I'm saying is someone said it worked on DeOdex. As in, if you really want this mod, flash the stock DeOdex NJ2 by Chad the Pathfinder. Or you could try doing the edits to the services.jar. I never use this mod so it's honestly at the very bottom of my to-do list. If I even get around to it at all, I probably wouldn't do the Odex anyways because it's a pain.I'm running the stock odexed rom.
I'll make them flashable after dinnerHere are the files needed for the NJ2 hotspot mod. services.jar for deodexed stock roms, services.odex for odexed stock roms. Hopefully someone can make a flashable zip out of these.
Oh OK, I was looking at the ND8 mod and it had both. OK, I'll split it into two separate zips here soon.I tested by just replacing the odex file and it works with the original jar.
Try wiping cache and dalvik cache in recovery after flashing. I don't know, I'm not on NJ2, I simply made the files another user said work into flashable zips... I never got confirmation if they worked.Just tried the NJ2 Odex and it won't boot up.

Can anyone give me any help? Just installed the stock deodexed NJ2 and flash the deodexed hotspot mod but that won't boot either.
The ND8 DeOdexed one works on DeOdexed NJ2. I would personally just flash a custom ND8 ROM as the NJ2 update is relatively pointless. Both of my ROMs (check signature) have most of the NJ2 update in them and the hotspot mod as well.Hey Ryan, is there a working NJ2 hotspot mod zip file? I know like the other person said before the odex and deodexed nj2 zips you shared don't work. I am setting someone's phone up for them.
Thanks!
If you are rooted, you can just replace the file from post #583.Hey Ryan, is there a working NJ2 hotspot mod zip file? I know like the other person said before the odex and deodexed nj2 zips you shared don't work. I am setting someone's phone up for them.
Thanks!
I have tried to use es file explorer to re-name services.odex to services.bak and then replace it with the one downloaded from post but i cannot gain access to the file. it is probably in use and will not let me copy, change names or move it. How did you do it if you please sir?I tested by just replacing the odex file and it works with the original jar.
You have to grant ES root permissions and make system R/W.I have tried to use es file explorer to re-name services.odex to services.bak and then replace it with the one downloaded from post but i cannot gain access to the file. it is probably in use and will not let me copy, change names or move it. How did you do it if you please sir?
I haven't used ES in awhile, so no I can't. I use Root Explorer from the Play Store and that will work for you out of the box.I had moved the button "Root Explorer" to "on" in ES file explorer. (pops out from the left side "fast access" slider when you tap the properties button) If that's what you refer to, but as to "make system R/W" I am in the dark. Could you shine your brain flashlight on that and explain how I might do that please. I will now google it too, like a diligent un-lazy person and read a bunch of irrelevant things and somehow end up losing an hour but knowing all about artisan yak cheese production.....
