This is strange, because I used Google's signatures and the version is the last from the market (201210120)Thank you for this mod. I flashed it and it worked. I do get an update from the market saying there is an update for caledar but I just ignored it.
Mine works fine.Just noticed that the home screen calendar widget seems not to be working after installing this.
Sure, I wrote the basics in post #4Is it possible to have a quick guide on how to do this mod?
Yea its strange since I did not install it from the market, so I am not sure why I get the update. How do you turn off the notification in the market? This is strange, because I used Google's signatures and the version is the last from the market (201210120)
Yes, ignore this then and turn automatic updates for calendar off
More strange is, that my market says I'm on the actual calendar... Before I flashed over CWM, I had a test install from market, uninstalled and flashed afterwards.
Mine works fine.
Which launcher do you have? Which ROM? Delete widget and re-add?
Regarding your friend on CM9: If the market calender works (just test it), then my mod will work too for sure.
MAYBE (but just maybe) it could get complicated if you have a low-res device (800x480), so you won't likely see a difference.

What else do you want to know?
In the Play Store app settings?!How do you turn off the notification in the market?
I am on the Euroskank ROM. I will try to update the calendar through the market then uninstall and reflash. In the Play Store app settings?!
Maybe you can try update the calendar, uninstall and re-flash over CWM.
Which ROM?
Just updated and uninstalled then flashed in cwm, same result. In the Play Store app settings?!

paranoidandroid. it lets you choose the actual layouts, and you get to scale it to your liking. tapping into the higher layout of calendar means three clicks and youre done. no mods, no hacks, no downloads, no reboots, no installs, no sideeffects. system dpi remains unaffected, this is on per-app basis. it works for all apps, pretty much all google apps have really nice tab layouts and theres countless of others from the market. even systemUI, the app that displays statusbars is treated in the same way, thats what people call "tablet mode" which really is no different from what happens here, just another layout of a single app. i think most people have no idea what treasures lie hidden in their everyday apps.Really cool idea but is there a way to make this work on other screen resolutions as well like on the Galaxy SII? (480×800 pixels, 218 ppi)
I'm not sure what you meant, but the data partition is not in the RAM. The RAM is volatile and thus it's contents are erased on very boot. The data partition is on the NAND, so is the system. It's referred to as ROM for some reason but it isn't actually read-only.[...]
Important note:
If you have updated the calendar via market before, you have to uninstall this update before flashing, otherwise you will see nothing. Android prefers the .apk in RAM (/data/app) over any .apk in ROM (/system/app) - that is a pretty normal behaviour.

The market syncs up to one year and the other one? What's the range?Guys, although the Nexus 7 and the GNx have almost the same screensizeresolution, the N7 shows events in Textview whereas the GNx shows only small lines for an event, so I modded the Stock-JellyBean-Calendar for my GNx as you can see in the screenshot.
Update/Changelog 18.10:
- CWM flashable zip
- Changed from GoogleCalendar 4.1.1 to 4.1.2
- some small fixes with the color squares
Update 18.10. the 2nd:
- Added modded new market version (v 201210120)
There is only one difference between the stock 4.1.2 and the market calendar: The market version syncs back events up to one year. To get that you have to delete the data in -> settings -> apps for "Calendar" and "Calendar Provider" and sync again manually after that.
Which version you take is your own choice, both work perfectly on all JB-ROMs including AOSP, AOKP, CM10...
Just flash the zip from CWM, but do a nandroid before (for your own security).

Enjoy!
