it's not universal, i'm assuming in ur original eritext in ur framework there is a name of u carrier. correct?

It is not the full eri.xml. its a patch. So no framework mod is needed. Check out the file.
Yea I believe the eri.xml I have in the OP is pretty similar, except I changed the eriText ti blank ("")
Yea i get that...but chk ur framework's eri and tel me if u have 'verizon' or watever as an eritext.
I tried to create a flashable zip but my notificiation power widget was removed although the carrier logo appeared overlapping the stock carrier. Request for a carrier logo please. ROM details are on my sig.

Don't forget to use the eri.xml in the OP and follow instructions on how to use it.. That will get rid of the overlapping text. If my eri.xml doesn't work look in your development or themes thread for something similar.. If you find one made for your device I can mod it for you
Back after sometime, I don't know how the eri xml works for some!
from wat I gathered it's not supposed to work in cm 7.
Anyway I got rid of the overlap by using another statusbar mod and cm parts mod...not my mod obviously.I still have a little work to do with that mod.

Fergie, I've never had any luck signing an apk so I've always used the "drag edited files into original archived apk" method. Problem is that there isn't a "values" folder in APKTool/SystemUI/build/apk/res.
Is there another way to sign the apk besides APKManager (never works for me)? Or maybe another workaround like the one I've been using?

Well if you have the proper Java runtime environment setup you can use ppc geeks apk signer

But I only use apktool for my compiling/decompiling needs and apkmanager to sign. Sorry.. Maybe look in the Android Software section for some tools that can help make it easier

I got it signed using Signare but when I copied it over via dropbox and root manager the status bar disappeared. Do I have to make a flashable zip? Did I do something wrong in the coding? Maybe you could check out my file and let me know.

I can make you a flashable zip tomorrow. Or you can head to my ICS mods thread and grab a status bar mod, extract it, and copy/paste your signed SystemUI.apk in the /system/app folder then zip up the system folder and META-INF folders and flash in recovery
