Did you change permissions to rw-r--r--

I can make you a flashable zip tomorrow. Or you can head to my ICS mods thread and grab a status bar mod, extract it, and copy/paste your signed SystemUI.apk in the /system/app folder then zip up the system folder and META-INF folders and flash in recovery

Yes I did set the permissions the correct way. As far as everything else you said to do, all I can say is...Huh?? lol Would you mind looking over the apk I attached on my last post and checking it for accuracy?

I'm sure you've been busy with the holidays but I was just wondering if you had a chance to look over the apk I uploaded. Would really appreciate it!

Hey I'm really sorry guys I'm usually pretty good with fulfilling requests and whatnot. Yea Holidays are a PITA right now, so are finals @ school

Yes, I will 100% take a look very soon. I'm still on campus studying lol. But I'll make it home later tonight and take a gander

Thanks Fergie! Too bad your not taking a Final on Android Modding huh? That'd be an easy pass. ;-)

Tapped with my Rooted Unlocked Atrix running CM7 (and still trying to figure all this out!)

Hopefully you don't mean the original files as I don't have those anymore. I've attached my current framework-res and SystemUI. The only changes I've made to these (since installing CM7) is the center clock.
Ok man I took a look. Everything appeared to be ok so Im assuming the only reason it didn't take is because it was/wasn't signed properly or the META-INF folder inside the flashable zip your using is not compatible with your phone

Also, remember, you will probably get overlapping text (your carrier name + carrier_logo) so try the eri.xml fix in the OP

I attached the zip. First, try flashing it. If you get an error in recovery, or nothing changes it means there is something wrong with the zip, not the apk. In that case extract the zip, take the SystemUI.apk and place it in /system/app/, fix permissions to rw-r--r-- and reboot

Okay buddy...here's the update: Tried installing zip via recovery and did get an error. I wiped cache after the error than rebooted and copied apk to system/app with correct permissions. Result = no status bar. :-(

I really want this mod! Any other suggestions?

Nope I really don't. Try and find a mod that works on your device and make a flashable zip out it. Use the META-INF folder from it, take a look @ the update-script and make sure it's pushing the app to /system/app

Why would the zip matter if it didn't work when moving the apk directly to system/app? Doesn't that mean there's a problem with the apk itself?
No.
Placing the systemui thru adb or root explorer never worked for me.
But flashing the same apk thru a zip worked.
U said u got an error while flashing so..prob could be the zip, recovery. What was the error?
----------edit-------
I hope u had no error while decompiling, compiling, signing and u used a signed zip.

Because some have no luck pushing to /system/app/ for whatever reason. I got no errors compiling/decompiling so IDK

I got no errors, still think the error is with the zip.
