It doesnt work for me...

Hello guys! I've followed the entire procedure, with samsung's stock file:
"N7000UBLSG_N7000ZTOLS3_N7000UBLS4_HOME.tar.md5" and 6GB pit file.

Everything runned normally, the phone booted, everything is ok, BUT, the data partition still has the same size as the stock pit...

I've also tryed with the 4GB pit file, same thing. Everything fine, but data partition with the same size...

Any ideas?

-------------------
EDIT

I forgot to remove the battery, after that everything worked! Thanks for the tutorial dude!

Cheers!

Quick help

I have downloaded pit file from last link, extracted the boot image from rom and converted it to tar.md5 format using img to tar.md5 tool.
Proceed as per instructions, now it shows like this
Initialization
Set pit file
Do not turn off target
Get pit for mapping
Forward update start
boot.img
NAND write start

And now it doesn't get past it.
What should I do.
Thanks

Now disconnected and started it. Booted fine, rom still there and got 6 gb Internet but that's all. Other space of internal storage is not shown in settings and it's just gone.
Any guidance is really upreciated.

Which post stated you need to extract boot.img? I flashed the PIT file with stock ROM and followed normal procedures to get a custom ROM. Everything worked fine, just make sure your antivirus is off and your laptop is running at high performance.

In OP, 4b. I had my kernel in tar.md5 format.
Better I will just flash stock ROM as in instructions 4a, then follow from there. The place where I live doesn't have high speed Internet that's why I thought I try option 4b..

Maybe I have to use some other kernel.
But thanks for the reply.

Hello I have the 16GB model,

I'm on CM12.1 bauner beta4 ROM.

First I did a Nandroid backup on my external sd (sd1)
I launch from Odin the re-partition PIT 6GB from the last file posted on the first post (just this operation with Odin, just downloaded the PIT file and then close Odin),
I went to CWM -> do factory reset
and the before to reboot I restore my backup from external sd
then reboot system now.

After rebooting the ROM works, I went to Settings -> Memory -> and I see the app partition OK on 6GB, the external 64GB ok -> but I can't see the internal storage sd0 (that now would be 11GB minus 4gb, cause before I had 2GB app space and 11GB available on internal storage, now I think I will have 6GB app space and 7GB internal storage if completely free and no data).

What can I do to see the internal storage?
THANKS

EDIT -> now I see it -> I went on CWM and format sd0 -> I choose vfat type format.

Now of course it's completely empty (7GB available -> I had 11GB but taking 4GB more for apps (from 2 to 6) now 11-4 = 7GB)
to restore the data and settings existing before on my internal storage I think I just need to restore my Nandroid backup from the external microsd (sd1)
Am I right?

THANKS

Hey, I partitioned my internal sd to 4GB and tried to turn it on but it got stuck at boot, then I flashed speed mod kernel and wiped cache, data it turned on but I'm having a problem with that format usb storage as I tried formatting it on phone but it still says Blank Usb storage and from pc here are screenshots. Help please.

Update: I wanted to re-partition to it's stock memory but having forgotten to tick the re-partition box on Odin made my phone boot but in an encrypted mode. Then not realizing that, I installed a custom kernel and updated my phone to Lollipop Nightowl and the phone seemed to be okay, then I remembered about that Odin thing I forgot and tried again. Well this time it booted without the need to wipe cache or data and I tried once again to format the usb storage from the phone and this time it worked now everything is 100% okay with the stock memory and I'll re-think if I wanna try to partition the memory again :p I don't know if this will be useful to anyone but just in case I wrote it down so you'll have it if you need it.

Update 2: Today I tried again to partition it and everything is working quite well, I had that same device memory but less usb storage thing but wiping date and cache fixed it. I don't know why I had such problems before but now device memory and usb storage are as I wanted them to be. Thank you dev for this mod, It's not like I desperately wanted it as I already was having enough memory with moving almost all of the apps to sd card but I like to play with my phone :) Here's a ss of it ^^

Failed!

Hello!

I have a Note GT N7000 (INDIA) and It has the Resurrection Remix Rom (Root).

I tried flashing the pit file only but it says pass and reboots but the memory is the same. Actually the memory shows only 1.97GB. Nothing else! Can you guide me on what to do? I need a rom (preferably lollipop with root and extended storage) and now i'm clueless on what to do or where to start!

Please help!

Edit: Actually, i formated sd/0(?) Now both memory is shown but internal is still 1.97gb.

First, try to remove the battery and see if device memory has changed if not then wipe data and cache and see if that will work. You actually have all these steps in this very same page, you should pay more attention on searching for a fix rather than ask for one bc there is almost every fix for every thing on xda :p

My phone's current baseband is XXLSA, which I think is from France or Germany. If I flash a Philippine open line ROM (since I'm from the Philippines), is there a chance that it will wipe my baseband/IMEI? If not, do I still have to flash new radios to suit the ROM?

I've installed "n7000 16gb variant - 4gb data - 45mb preload.pit" through Odin3 v1.85 from the first post without installing anything because I was lazy to download stock ROM and couldn't find a single .tar.md5 kernel. And so my phone became unbootable. But I could still access my recovery, after that I've installed the same .pit file with Odin again, but this time with a stock ROM (Malaysia version). But it failed at NAND (Something like that, i don't remember). So I searched the thread and found this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=59164692&highlight=untested#post59164692 and installed. Now I can't even access my recovery, Odin can't detect my phone in Download Mode, can't even see the boot N7000 screen. It says "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." I found a thread that gave me a solution: Tools> Firmware Upgrade and Initialisation. But Kies is keep giving me wrong S/N number message (It was right). Looks like the partitions are messed up. Now I don't have anything else to try, any help would be appreciated. :D

Edit: I mislooked S/N as SSN. I got it correct at last but GT-N700 doesn't support initializing.

The post clearly mentions that n7000 "16gb variant - 4gb data - 45mb preload.pit" should not be used with the stock ROM . Why don't you people read properly ? Its mentioned as so to prevent stupid things like what u did this time .

UPDATE 19th July

I have added my donation details to my profile, following a request from @A-S who wished to donate and request a build.

I will always build for people, but he really wanted to donate so I set up the link!

You may thank him for the new versions he requested if they suit you! 10gb & 12gb now available!

32gb Model now supported! First tested and verified 6gb Data version attached, ask if you wish for different partition sizes! :) !

Beware #1 - Preload moddified version are NOT suitable for Samsung Stock Roms!

Beware #2 - Pre-Load moddified versions are for custom roms that do not use pre-load area! Please post on the respective thread for your rom and ask the author the question prior to using these versions if you are unsure! (I can tell you that SlimRoms & Cyanfox do not use preload, at present at least)

Beware #3 - If you want to go back to stock rom, you just need to flash my standard edition pit files, easy!

***************************************************************************************************************

Increase your data application partition and set your device free!

Are you bored of having to move apps to SD?

Bored of facing a stock issue of not even being able to move apps to your internal SD?

This thread will help you, currently only for n7000 16gb Model only.
[/COLOR]

GUIDE - The usual rules apply, You will:

IMPORTANT: Please backup all your photos, videos and other important stuff on your PC, in the cloud or somewhere else where it is safe, as all your stuff on your internal SD card will be deleted!

1) Run compatible version of Odin, put your phone in to download mode (vol down/home/power button) and connect to PC via USB

2) Tick re-partition box

3) Click PIT button and select the pit file of your desired app partition size.

4a) Click PDA and select your stock official samsung jellybean rom - Edit- please remember if you use a rom that is not native to your region, it would be wise to flash the appropriate radio modem afterwards to ensure you get the signal strength you'd expect :)

4b) OR Flash your persnonal choice of kernel in *.tar format and pit file, reboot to CWM ( power button/vol up/home button) and install new rom or restore nandroid and boot as normal and skip to number 9 in this guide

5) Flash and wait for reboot

6) Let the phone reboot and wait until the android chap finishes his spinny wire ball belly animation and then remove the battery and do a factory reset using the usual power/vol up/ home trick.

7) Let it boot so you can check that you are happy with the result. ( I didn't, but you might want to)

8) Now flash your chosen rooted kernel and either stick with stock rom or enter CWM and flash your own custom rom.

9) When your phone boots, you may get a notification to format usb storage, say yes if prompted! If it that fails, connect you phone to your PC and format the the internal sd card manually.

10) Remember that Android likes automatically deciding where apps go, so sometime it tries to put stuff to SD itself (app requests it), it is worthwhile checking your installed apps to makes sure they went to internal app partition, you can tell this by either:

a) Look in Titanium back up, go to the move/integrate section and see if any apps show as moveable from SD to internal, if so run the batch process to put them on your nice new app partition, otherwise you may have issues running those apps.

b) If you don't have Titanium (why not?) then check the harder way by looking at app manager and swipe to the right to look at SD app, sort by size and then individually move ones back to internal storage.

11) That easy! Here is a shot of my resulting app manager

Files attached to post including original pit in case you want it back to stock values!

Enjoy!

Thanks to @RivakDebbie for testing this pit file on his own N7000 :good:

I want to restore my phone to stock ROM with stock PIT file. but, it always stuck with NAND write start fail.
can anybody explain what's wrong?
i came from 4GB data partition, when suddenly my phone just freeze. Boot it up, stuck at samsung galaxy Note. Then i try to enter recovery, just end up in blank screen.
The only living sign of my phone is download mode. but, as i explained earlier. it always stuck at NAND write start fail.

I Think You Just Have To Flash The Stock Rom From Odin It will Automatically Use The Stock PIT File In Firmware And You Will Be Able To Recover Stock State

What checkmarks have you set in Odin for flashing Stock?

sorry my mistake,
first try without stock PIT file. Flash only Stock ROM and it stuck in NAND write start fail,
second attempt i tried with stock PIT (re-partition checked) and this time re-partition operation failed.
i think i have a dead (or bricked?) eMMC here. is there any solution for un-bricked it?

if i am goinng to flash the slimbean 2.2 do i have to flash the
"Galaxy_Note_n7000_4__6____8gb_data_-_45mb_preload_-_NOT_FOR_STOCK_or_CUSTOM_ROMS_THAT_USE_PRELOA.zip?"

i current installed "n7000 (16gb)_4,6,8,10,12gb.zip" with nightowl rom and then i install the slimbean 2.2. seems boot normally. do i have to install the other .pit which is the preload version?

Question for you guys.

I have repartitioned my (16GB N7000) system already to 4GB.
Will this affect what kind of gapps I can use from those:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/tk-gapps-t3116347
...or do gapps go to some other partition that is unaffected?

And since I asked, can I actually use the "full" gapps package in (repartitioned) N7000 or is too storage limited and I have to use "mini"?

Thanks.
