You are dang right that it is stoneage, and I do not take great offense at you pointing out the bleeding obvious. So there.

Curious why have the discussions in here instead of in individual threads. makes things really cluttered have all different discussions in one thread ?? (just curious)

anyway installed the odex strong steve 4 in 1 and it broke my phone :) stops after the chime and hangs on the yellow "sprint" screen. will not complete booting.

How do I fix?

I read this

" My odex mods are always tested before release. If its not working for you, its user error. "

awfully presumptious although I agree 99% of the time its user error.

I just can't figure out what my error was. I booted into recovery. I flashed the odex 4in1 I rebooted. it hangs.

I booted into recovery again and wiped dalvik and caches (even though thread said I don't have too) no effect. still hangs on yellow sprint screen.

could really use help fixing this I DO NOT want to flash a clean rom and start all over I just got the damned thing the way I like it so I have no full clean backups yet. (just got the phone)

I notice twrp seems to do everything ok but keeps saying unable to mount usb storage

what does that mean?

Need help

So the wife and I just picked up a Note 3 each on Sprint. I rooted and installed TWRP on both without issues. I ran the zip to unlock the native hotspot on mine and booted up just fine after. Now I installed the zip on the wife's phone and now it starts to boot and gets hung up on the yellow Sprint screen. I have rebooted into TWRP and tried wiping the phone but still no luck. I was stupid and rushed though it and didn't make a nandroid backup. I feel like my only option is to return it to best buy tomorrow and just not say anything about the rooting. Anyone have an idea to avoid exchanging the phone at best buy?

Thanks ahead of time.

This will get it back to complete stock. From there you can root it again.

Or if you have an external sd card, you could download a prerooted rom and save the zip to the SD card, put the card in your wife 's phone and flash it in TWRP recovery. You still have many options.

Thank you! I've been out of this for a while and use to HTC as well.

Just so i'm clear though, just flash this via Odin like I did to root and install TWRP?

That is correct referring to the link provided. Flash that in Odin PDA slot and your back up and running as if you just left Best Buy earlier today (with exception of the KNOW counter being flipped to 0x1 from installing root /TWRP)

I've had issues in the past with this.

Be sure if you backed up the files you renamed the extension. Not the fikename.

File.back.apk will bootloop.
File.apk.bak will not.

I want to know if anyone has figured out how to root & reset the counter yet? I had to have the phone and so paid more for it. So I'm a bit leary to mess with it. The stock rom as it is known has its issues & I very much want to get rid of the bloatware. Like lumen bar and stuff. So I do want to root it especially since I have a few apps whose progess do not sync with FB or anything like that.
