[MOD/HOW-TO] Volume Shutter keys for camera (Updated for LJ7 Jelly Bean/Note II)

Well, hi. Who says that we don't have a dedicated camera shutter button now? I mean it's no two-stage shutter button, but it works! Both volume keys are now shutter keys in the camera app. Maybe I can try making one of them a 'focus' button and the other a shutter?

Anyway, it is one less thing the EVO LTE guys have to their advantage, kinda. Download it below.

This is the version for the Note II's camera app, which is far superior to our own camera app anyway.

Other mods this includes:
-Removed low battery warning that makes the camera not work
-Removed low battery warning that makes the camcorder not work
-Removed low battery warning that makes the flash not work

Note: This is for Jelly Bean DeDdexed ROMs. If anyone wants to Odex it, that would be awesome.

I gotta say man, I love tryin new stuff out but even more fun is seeing how its done. I LOVE the way you post up not only the mod itsself, but the "how-to" that makes it work.

May I be so bold as to suggest (ask ) that maybe one of the next tutorials you do be on how to decifer smali files? I can pretty much wrap my head around the XML's....but the smalis really get me stumped. I am trying to study up on the opcodes but it is still tough to understand the flow. Just asking Keep the cool stuff coming!

Hmm, I'm not sure that the power key is remappable in this particular app. But i will give it a try, it's in a better place to be a shutter button that's for sure.

You are correct. Stock rom, just rooted and Odexed.
