No carrier text, 1% battery mod, no gap between wifi / radio signals

hello all,

This is a SystemUI.apk that I have modified which does the following;

- no carrier text
- 1% circle battery mod
- no gap between wifi and radio icons.

File is attached.

I have a rogers XT925 running on 4.1.2, rooted.

Please make sure to backup your current SystemUI.apk file before applying the new one. I'm not responsible for anything that happens to your phone.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

I used the modified SystemUI,apk which already had the carrier label removed.

I used Tickle My Android to apply the battery icon pack and modifying the XML files.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1633333

To remove the gap between the WiFi icon and the radio icon, edit /res/layout/signal_cluster.xml

Look for the line:

Code:
 <FrameLayout android:id="@id/wifi_combo" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginRight="-6.0dip">
change
Code:
android:layout_marginRight="-6.0dip"
to
Code:
android:layout_marginRight="-24.0dip"
Use the Tickle My Android tool to recompile the SystemUI.apk.
Hope this helps.

Worked like a charm on my phone - but it looks like the H+ icon overlaps with the WiFi icon at times. :(
I tried messing around with it for a bit but having issues. Any chance you could do a recompile without the gap removal?
Good advice on the Tickle My Android tool - I like battery type 29 (Ice-CreamSandwichWithPercentage) and am going to try and get that on mine if I ever figure this out.

Now to see if I can mod in a reboot option from the shutdown menu and some better auto dimming levels.

Hey all, just wanted to warn everone, this is SystemUI file will also change your navigation bar Softkeys to something that looks very much like the old versions of android, and this may be something that you dont want. For me, it was absolutely perfect since not only did it do away with the carrier info, but it also added the 1% battery mod and percentqge battery icon to my status bar, which was exactly what I was hoping and looking for. But when I saw the Navigation Bar Softkeys... man oh man was I was I ticked. I spent over two weeks trying to do the whole compiling/decompiling of my own SystemUI file, but that is definitely NOT someone without any programming experience or skills should ever try. In the end, just when I was about to give up and go somewhere to cry and finally accept my fate and that I was just going to have to learn to live with an old looking version of the Softkeys, someone took pity on me and gently directed me to the solution to all that was mortifying me: a program made for Root users designed to do just this exactly and change the Softkeys without affecting anything else in your UI. Its called [SIZE="5"][B][U][URL="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.janis605.softkeyz#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDIxMiwiY29tLmphbmlzNjA1LnNvZnRrZXl6Il0."]SoftkeyZ[/URL][/U][/B][/SIZE] and it was the one thing that finally allowed me to have my phone looking EXACTLY the way i wanted it to. Anyways, just wanted to let you guys know. Thanks! :p

The old style Softkeys that were installed along with the SystemUI mod and then the repaired Softkeys version, finally looking perfect:

Hey, I had no idea it affected the navigation keys. I had modified the framework-res.apk file to do away with the navigation keys. It required adjusting dimensions in an xml file. Sorry, I didn't mean to scare anyone like that. I'm glad the file worked out for you.

btw, what's the HTC looking widget?

Cheers

Hey, by the way... Do you think you could possible make a new systemui file that has the more common circle 1% battery icons like these ones below?

Or maybe just a simple, but larger and thicker number with a % symbol next to it, perhaps? Your battery icons are pretty, but because neither the round dots around the number nor the number itself are in Bold, it makes it really hard to see and read it:

Whereas in the other, more common circle battery ones and in the numbers and % symbol the thicker dots and/or bold numbers make it easily readable:

Any chance of that, please, since most of the systemui files other than yours that I´ve tried just leave me without navigation or status bars and a broken UI altogether... thanks! ;)

POSTDATA EDIT: I mentioned already that I just about completely gave up on ever being able to make any sense out of "Tickle Your Android", but I saw that you mentioned in the apps official thread that it is what you used to modify your SystemUI file. If that´s the case, could you please do the same but this time using either of these choices for battery:

8. Circles by Hoolm

13. Cyanogenmod 9 by Perka

Instead of your current "Minimal Circle" option, please? I´m terribly sorry to have to bother someone else with this, but I really, REALLY tried to work my way through Tickle for over two weeks, but it was all to no avail lamentably. Anyways, please receive my deepest gratitude for your kind attention and for any and all effrts you might undertake on our behals. Thank you! Cheers ;)

Here you guy buddy.

Just rename the file you want to use to SystemUI.apk

SystemUI_circles.apk

SystemUI_cm.apk is what the regular CM roms have

I've also modified the data icons to match the stock Jelly Bean Icons.

Cheers.
