You just need to root your device with Magisk and install these modules zip using Magisk Manager app.
Thank you very much, yes I know how to use root and install these modules, but my question is about how to install a modified kernel together with these modules. If the modules are first and then the kernel or vice versa. Thanks for the support.
There's no correlation between these modules and a custom kernel. Order is not important in terms of kernel before module or vice versa.
Err...I have that exact solution present on the MOD. It should work exactly has you've mentioned.@Typhus_ thank you for your continuous excellent work! One thing I've noticed when enabling date text in the status bar clock is that both the custom date text and the stock date appear beside each other when the notification shade is pulled down. Might it be possible to hide the stock date when the status bar clock date option is enabled?
Thanks for this! This was definitely on my wishlist before I found Button Mapper, which allows Active Edge customization without requiring System UI modding.Edge Sense Plus MOD was brought to my attention by @trzpro (many thanks brother). It's quite an interesting module, created in 2019 by @j to the 4n, that adds tons of customization into devices that have active edge sensors. For quite some time this module hasn't been updated so, users who enjoyed it in the past, weren't using it nowadays since it required updates into newer stock Pixel ROM builds. Besides that, since the MOD requires modding SystemUI, you wouldn't be able to use it at the same time as Addon Features.
Well, having this in mind, I've decided to take a shot and ported the MOD successfully for all Pixels, that have a January build, and include it inside Addon features already modded SystemUI. Many thanks to @buffal0b1ll for all the tests. They were really helpful.
Since this mod requires an extra app, and since there are some Pixels that don't have active edge sensor, the app installation can be done by an option inside ROM Control. Thought that it wouldn't make much sense to have the app always available for all devices since, for some, it would be just lying there...on the drawer...doing nothing but occupying space.
Anyway, the MOD isn't mine, as I've explained, I've just merged it into Addon Features MOD. I didn't even tested it properly since my device, a Pixel 4a, is one of the unlucky devices that don't have Edge Sense Plus.
I wish I could help you out with that but, like I've said, I limited myself on porting the MOD. It's possible that haptic feedback has been lost. I can try, however, to look into the mod code and check if it's possible to do anything. Thanks for this! This was definitely on my wishlist before I found Button Mapper, which allows Active Edge customization without requiring System UI modding.
Unfortunately, with the V15 change, Active Edge seems to have lost haptic feedback, regardless of whether ESP is installed. I assume this is related to this particular mod. Anyone else, or is it just me?
If I'm not mistaken, ESP overrides stock active edge options. This means that, if you uninstall the app, the settings defined prior it's uninstall, will remain there. This is just a theory but, if I were you, I'd install ESP again and would set all squeeze actions to nothing. Then you could uninstall the app. In theory, everything would be set to off then.Hi @Typhus_ , I noticed that I can't seem to be able to deactivate Active Edge since v15 of your mod. Active Edge is always active when squeezing the phone, even when Active Edge Sense Plus app is not installed and Active Edge is turned off from the Gesture Settings of the phone. Can you look into it yourself, or guide me on how to provide logs or something? Thanks!!
Turns out that unchecking "Disable Visual Feedback" in ESP restores haptic feedback (and I verified by toggling the setting on and off that the the two are directly related).
