Checked erase recovery, installed alternate, made sure erase was still checked, flashed back to 3.0.0.8 and still got the bootloop. Reflashed CM7.0 without wiping and now the battery mod works as it should.

Now that I think about it I was messing with a metamorph for the battery icon earlier. I'm guessing that had something to do with it. Either way, it works now and I appreciate the help

I've not tried that one myself yet, but almost everytime someone has that problem, it is because they have a bad recovery.

In Rom Manager, options, check "Erase Previous Recovery". Then install alternate recovery then install CWM3008.

So there are still nightlies coming even after the stable CM7 is done? I see 39 is out, I was wondering a few days ago if the nightlies would continue...

"Stable" is just a name of one of their releases, just like "RC4" and "RC3".

The names don't really mean anything other than that is where the maturity level of the project is. Expect more nightlies, expect more RC's (7.1-RC1), and expect POINT releases (7.0.1, 7.1, 7.2, etc).

So I am trying to combine your multicolor circle battery mod w/ the "the way it should have been" theme/centered lockscreen by AdhvanIt.

Both modify the framework, so I know if I flash one, it will overwrite the other.

What if I copy just the circle battery png's from the framework into the adhvanit's lockscreen framework, would the circle battery function properly? Or is there some xml edit...?

I notice that in stock cm7 there's only 20 or so battery pngs, while the circle ones obviously have 100+ pngs for the meter, and more for when it's charging.

I'll look into this further tonight. I really want a circle battery. Hmmm...

If you copy the pngs, they have to match the xml files. I'm not sure which battery framework he is using. It might work, or it might flip back and forth between the 2 batteries. If Advanhit has a MetaMorph version of his (I know some of his do), then apply my battery mod and then apply his metamorph.

I was able to combine your battery mod and his theme.

So did you just copy the .png files over?
Yes.

I copied the .png files (everything except the battery .pngs) from the framework/drawable-hdpi folder of the theme to the battery mod. Also copied over an xml file to get the lockscreen text centered. Flashed the theme first, then the battery mod. :)

So I loaded the percent battery and it looks great but sometimes it switches back to the "stock" battery. I am running the honeycomb theme in theme chooser with cm7 #41. Any ideas?

The honeycomb theme does that. My mods are all built against the default theme. If you use another theme, you will get this "switching" effect as the non-default theme does its own stuff...

Kinda guessed that. Is there a fix I could do? I am going to search around but was hoping you had a good starting point. Oh, and thanks for your work! These mods are sick!

The only "fix" would be to either modify the theme apk's to only use the framework batteries or include the modded batteries, or to rebuild the mod against that particular theme specifically for use with that theme. So, either the theme or the mod would have to be rebuilt with the other one in mind.

If a "for-real" final version of cm7 is released, and there are no more nightlies, it would be easy to provide the battery mods for all themes on that final build. But having to do it for every nightly with every theme would just be too much.

Yeah, I can see how that would be. It only goes back to the the honeycomb icons once in a while so it is not a huge deal. My ocd just wants it to be right! Maybe I will work on it one day...
