Is there any way to add(or enable) in this messaging app option to remove non-UTF7 characters? I mean something like in cyanogenmod mms app "encode only in UTF7.
I'm quite sure that I had this option in stock mms app, but after installing latest Omar Rom, and later black mms, I've lost it.

Sent from my XT890 using xda app-developers app

Shaftenberg, I found 2 problems with your black framework: :(
1.) Entering settings -> Storage leads to FC in "settings"
2.) A second FC occurs on "android.process.media", when connecting the phone to the USB cable

It took me some time to find out, that your framework is root-causing this, because I don't see a connection between both.
But as soon as I flash your file the issues occure and as soon I flash back to stock "framework-res.apk" everything works fine again.

I have the problem on 2 ROMs:
- Stock ROM with mod for swapped SD card
- InfiniROM (based on stock, includes SD card swap)
But strangely it is working on OMARs ROM.
So, I assume it has something to do with the SD card swap.
Do you have any ideas? Can you please have a look at this?

I want your black framework back, but with working USB access to the SD card (my cover for SD card and SIM card is broken).
I also already tried the "framework-res.apk" of the blackout pack (not the same checksum), but it shows the same issues!

An there is also an issue with your SMS no Limit app: When I flash the zip on stock, the stock app "MmsDependencies.apk" is not deleted.
This leads to the issue, that your new green MMS app is active, but still the old limit of 200 messages is present (can only be raised till 1000).
From my point of your, the updater script, should also delete the "MmsDependencies.apk" to avoid the problem! ;)

As my framework-res.apk is a STOCK app, it does not work with SD card swap mods, as those need a special modified framework-res.apk, sorry for that.

You're right for that case, but you can manually delete MmsDependencies.apk - in case of Omar's ROM you NEED to delete this file.

Well, I can't think of any possible thing someone does. For me it is somewhat weird to place a renamed stock app in addition to another file, which should do the same. The people who flash Omar's ROM should be aware of that, not me :)
My CWM installer script does anything it should do, nothing more or less.

I'll make a hint in the OP anyway, thanks for the input.

Is there any chance, that you can adapt your framework for the swap, please?! :fingers-crossed:

No, sorry.
But you can put the attached file (background_holo_dark.png) in /res/drawable-nodpi into your desired working framework-res.apk
Just open it with WinRAR or 7-zip and replace the old resource, that's easy.

Okay, I adapted the stock framwork and it works fine now, thanks!
Does this mean, in the blackout pack you basicly exchanged the backgrounds of all the other apps in this way to make them black?

Hi guys,

here is the Messaging.apk from stock Jelly Bean 4.1.2.
I changed the conversation message limit from 1000 messages to 9999 and changed the displayed date in threads from "received time" to "sent time", hope you'll enjoy.

Go one time to "settings" and set the message limit to 9999, then you are done.

Flash from CWM or extract the apk manually, just as you need it.
This is completely safe, but I recommend to backup your old Messaging.apk first, just for your convenience.

Caution: If you are on Omar's ROM, you should delete MmsDependencies.apk from /system/app manually to avoid weird conflicts!

Update 31-3: new Version (hidden database limit removed)
Update 12-4: provided a CWM-package (MessagingNoLimit.zip)
Update 13-4: added a grey and a black themed version (flashable zip) with a NEW ICON, see pictures
Update 14-4: added CWM-package with a BLACK stock JB framework-res.apk, for the ones who like to have a real black SMS app.
You'll never see the gradient blueish background style again, this is for all apps. You don't need this package, it is optional.
could you may add an app with denied sms and mms receiving permissions? this would be great because then we could use it together with the cm mms app. (without getting double notifications and double messages)

I'm in Omar's rom... Does your CWM package already removes MmsDependecies.apk?? If not, how do I delete this apk?
Download a FileExplorer like ES Explorer, Solid Explorer or Root Explorer from market.
Navigate to the /System/Apps folder and delete MmsDependencies.apk in there.

greetings
