Wah Cantt.
Lots of apps FC'ing

Awesome to have Play Store working on the OUYA. Thanks for the great work.

The first app I tried to install was Chrome, and it FC'ed on me at launch. Then ES file explorer. Same behavior. I thought I'd done something along the way and broken it, but then I tried installing Color Note and it works fine. So the setup seems to be working but most of the apps won't run.

Have tried installing the patch again taking care to select NO for stock bootrom replacement (first time I selected YES), and then performing the post-install steps again, but same behavior still.

Any ideas?

I can comment on ESfileExplorer: had to find 3.0.5.1 and stop upgrading. I don't have the other apps you have problems with - but FWIW Accuweather stopped working after the ROM update.
As long as XBMC and Netflix work, I am happy.

Known issue... haven't really looked into getting it to work either.

Correct... when it asks select "No" and all should work then.
will try this later today.

perhaps it is a good idea to edit the first post to reflect the neccessary selection to avoid confusion from new users experiencing the same problem.

Chrome has a problem with OUYA. May be if you can install the beta version or something. Besides it doesn't support the flash websites, so you actually don't need it that much. I find Firefox to act better (though I never use it on the desktop) because it requires less touch.
Anyway, you can start with these websites. They have a lot of useful stuff.

http://ouyaforum.com/showthread.php?4455-List-Of-Side-Loadable-Games-amp-Applications
Check them out. I tried a lot of the stuff in them, just be careful, even if the game works perfect, it is very annoying to have to use the touch pad. That's what I think.
One thing is that the official XBMC is the most stable and reliable and I use it all the time. The newest Android beta release and nightly work also with extra stuff, but if you need the stable normal functionality and pairing with remote control programs and you don't care about themes (which actually break a lot of the stuff), then you would more than fine with the official OUYA XBMC.
Hope this helps...

Hi guys, I have a weird problem that may or may not be related to the patch. I can't setup parental controls. It used to work before but now it doesn't work any more after the patch. I have my account of course to set up the OUYA and start using it, but then hen I get to the parental control section and it tells me to enter the password of my account (that's already there), I put my same password but it says password incorrect. I used another keyboard but it still doesn't work.
Any suggestions?

Do i need to wipe something on cwm recovery before flashing?

Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
I myself didn't and I had a very hard time booting (may be because I had other Xposed mods installed), then I wiped everything including system and had to reflash everything. So just to be safe, first download the stock version mentioned by the OP and put it on the SD card or your computer if you are using ADB and the most important thing of course is the keyboard, it can be wired or wireless (which works perfectly by the way), so that if anything goes wrong, you can get into recovery. And of course, make a Nandroid backup.

OK I went into recovery, installed, but my build number is the same that it was stockplus 1.0.519r2. Also discover (ouya store) doesn't launch. It says SU granted, but launches nada. What am I doing wrong?

Never mind, I read the previous post where it says you have to be on 1.2 for it to work. Everything works like it should. I get constant google play store pop ups though.

Now that the new "Chupacabra" is out, will it be ok if I update, or shall I wait for a new patch first? What are the proper steps to update and not lose root or the play store?
Thanks in advance...

Seconded, My system tried auto updating itself last night, it did not give me the prompt to choose to delay the update or not (Which was strange as I am on the latest, which was supposed to add that option) Either way it failed after rebooting to an Ouya screen then I just get an Ouya with an "!" and it reboots and starts the cycle all over again, any help would be appreciated! Thanks all

Mine doesn't update. I tried looking for the new update but it says up to date. But that's exactly what happened to me last time when I updated unwillingly. I had to reboot in recovery using a keyboard and then I had to format everything including system and then redo everything from scratch.
I hope everything goes fine for you and that you'll find a another method that will spare you all the troubles...

I just let it update and tell it not to use system recovery when asked. Then: can re use su and mods just find. The pass through isn't working for me. Interested to hear ascot others experiences.

Did it update on it's own? Or did you do something?
I don't care about all the stuff they updated except the controller thing. I have a pocket Moga and I can't get it to sync, no matter what I do. And even when it did sync one time a long time ago, the OUYA didn't see it as a controller and I couldn't get the two player mode to work in Amazing Frog.
Anyway, I'll wait for the update and report back whatever happens...

Just booted the OUYA to check to see if update checking was borked again and so far its not force updating the OUYA... still blocking...

My guess is that *maybe* when yall installed and left CWM that you selected the "yes" option when it asked about stock recovery fix on boot...

In CWM when you select reboot and get prompted "ROM may flash stock recovery on boot. FIX?" did you make sure to select no? As it sounds like you are selecting yes which actually kills what I'm hooking into... ( which would explain the issues with that )
As for an update to said patch I'll look into it soon... just wanting to finish a few things before I hop back on this.

Thanks for the reply. So, do you think I can reflash the patch and choose "NO" when prompted after I finish? Do you think it will fix it? Or do you think I should wait and flash the new stock followed by the new patch when it's out?
