Just reporting back...

I downloaded the new OTA from this link and flashed it through the CWM recovery. It worked like a charm. Then I opened RootMyOUYA and though it said rooted, you have to start root again. Once finished, you can go to the SupperSU to check for errors (it gave me errors before I re-rooted the OUYA). Then download the Mod_PS4Ouya.apk from this thread or from the attached files, sideload it and install it.
It took like 10 minutes, but I got the update, the root and everything is still intact and working perfect.
Thanks to all the people involved in making the Xposed Framework and the PlayStore4OUYA mod and of course to IncognitoMan.
Waiting for the new patch

So do we need to wait for a new patch for "Chupacabra" (who the hell comes up with these names...I don't want to host a monster in my living room) or can still use the old one...or try an alternate solution like the one above?

So I just tried this and now the RootMyOuya apk won't install... hmm... I wonder if they disable allowing that to install with the new hotfix??? We really need a fork of this front end that truly doesn't force you to update.

Please do... I have a feeling they took measures to keep the google store from being installed under the make menu. You can install the xposed installer but it doesn't show up in the make menu lol. We REALLY need a new StockPlus version now!

OK, I just tried and my root is still intact. The SuperSU is working perfect and the ROM Toolbox and Xposed framework is working perfect. Still, the Play Store doesn't work, It closes and disappears from the screen once I open it. I tried to uncheck the module and recheck it after restarting, but it still doesn't work. But like I said, my OUYA is still rooted and all the root apps are working fine. Sorry about your situation though

Try installing the RootMyOuya apk and see if it actually installs and shows up in make, if you don't mind.

I already have it installed. I always keep it installed so that I won't run into that problem. I can try uninstalling and then reinstalling if you want...

I uninstalled it after clearing data and then reinstalled it and it went fine. It was installed and it shows Rooted, but I still tried and pressed Start Root and it still went fine. I don't know what went wrong when you tried. May be a bad download (though it's a far possibility). And also are you sure you have ADB debugging on or not?

If you'd like to update to latest grab this file here and copy it to "/sdcard/CONFIG/"... it'll overwrite the existing UPDATE file and when you check for an update it should start the process of updating. You'll lose any features of StockPlus Patch but atleast you'll be able to use the discover section and update the apps.

Do you still plan to release a new patch for the newest load? Many of us are not yet ready to jump to CM11. Cheers

Just checked and you can go to ouya site and push a game to to ouya, that still works fine even though can't open discover directly on the ouya.

I hope I done everything correctly I'm just sitting here at the "Your OUYA is upgrading" screen, but I first flashed OUYA_StockPlus_1.0.519r2.zip and then while still in recovery after that was done flashing I flashed SPP_1.2.858_RC1.zip

Finally booted back into CWM Recovery...

1. Connect a USB keyboard to your OUYA.
2. Turn your OUYA on.
3. Press and hold ALT + PRINT + I (NOT L)
4. Keep pressing the I button for 2 seconds so that the screen flickers for about 4-6 times until your OUYA reboots.
5. When it reboots you will see a red exclamation mark and U. Now hit your home key button on the USB keyboard and you are now in recovery mode.

Reflashed the main rom not the update and booted right up but now I'm stuck at it checking for updates and unable to connect.

If you'd like to update to latest grab this file here and copy it to "/sdcard/CONFIG/"... it'll overwrite the existing UPDATE file and when you check for an update it should start the process of updating. You'll lose any features of StockPlus Patch but atleast you'll be able to use the discover section and update the apps.

I guess its a no no installing this on the current firmware 1.2.1018_r1 ? Just got my ouya second hand and it had already been updated to lastest software.

I wanted play store and after rooting and installing it just will not load.

How do I stop automatic OTA Updates and for the love of god why is only CM11 the only active Ouya rom around... We got a crap ton of ouya forums all over and every SINGLE one of them has seem to of have stopped developing altogether. What for and why, since when the did the Ouya and it's scene die and everything be put on the back burner on hold? LoL

Frustrated tried CM11 couldn't get Ouya sys app's working, CM10 4.1.2 was a no go and wouldn't flash at all in CWMR, so no I'm back at crudy old stock stock nothing special nothing fancy.

I'm with you man...All I need at this point would be a patch from IncognitoMan on the latest Chupacabra so I can get passthrough to work. Not interested in much else if it's not allowing Netflix HD.
Count me in for a beer donation if we get a patch
