There aren't huge difference between now and before, but i can feel that sound has changed.

I keep wondering the same thing. And I have no intention of installing this until this gets answered.

I reckon it's a placebo effect. And it's going to be quite hard to prove any changes without possessing two devices.

Sorry, but I'm really struggling to find out what this actually does. I'm listening to it now and to be honest I can't really remember what it sounded like before so I can't really make a comparison. A lot of people say there's a change and that it's better. But better how? What can this do that the equaliser cannot? Is there an increase in clarity? A flatter sound (as every audiophile strives to achieve)? A larger dynamic range? Or perhaps as the beats brand is somewhat infamous for; deeper bass?

Maybe it's not targeted towards my preferred genre of music (melodeath).

In any case could someone point me towards any documentation? I'm really curious as to what this does.
No way is it a placebo effect! It is real and amazing. If you want to get technical..

BEFORE:

AFTER:

The more red you see, the better. It means you hear much more of the song, more clearly. A comparison is hard to do. Keep it loud and use decent headphones and you will see that the bass goes amazingly deeper and stronger, and more parts of the song can be heard all at once in good harmony. Obviously, the name beats is influential to it as melodeath is probably not dr.dre's favourite thing to dance to.

I listen to alot of my music thru my headphones when I'm on my motorbike so trust me when I say there is a difference, its not massive as, don't forget its still a cell fone after all. I have two wildfire s's in my house as I also have a virgin branded one for work & if I play the same song on both fones for say my missus, even she can hear the difference

again its not wildly different but its certainly noticeable

EDIT: to the guy above what app is that your using for the test pls?

Practical Joke?

Am I the only one that finds this amusing?
Here we are, over 30 posts later, and NOT ONE PERSON is able to properly articulate what this "mod" is supposed to do?!

Forget about whether or not it actually works (personally, I have my doubts - what do you expect is going to come out of a $100 cellphone? $3,000-sounding audio?) all we really wanna know is: WHAT IS THIS SUPPOSED TO DO?

The fact that about a dozen folks have come online, flashed the mod, and then reported "yeah, it sounds better" just shows how ignorant everyone's being. For those who have flashed, I have yet to see a proper description about HOW or WHY it's better. You're not helping the cause here, people.

Until someone can clearly state what this is for, I ain't touching it with a 10 ft. pole.... and neither should you!

If someone made a decent flash mod and they want us to try it, the least they can do is TELL US WHAT IT FUCKING DOES!!

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills over here!

Calm down mate, it's just a little mod. Read my post above.

Well, when I started typing my rant, I was Post #31.
I see now that 2 other people hit Submit before me... and they just happen to be posts regarding the supposed sound quality increase this mod provides.

It's about time... thank you!

(However, I'm still not satisfied with your answer. "More red" doesn't mean "better sounds". "More red" means "more red". Tell us, exactly, what this mod does. It's not that hard. Does it raise the lows? Flatten the highs? Boost bass? C'mon... don't make me pull teeth, here. YOU tell US what this thing does. Saying "it just sounds better" shows us all how little you actually know about this mod.)

Jeez, you might as well download it before this thread gets deleted. All threads with these files are being deleted for some reason.

It's said to give more clarity and deeper bass. I'm not a scientist, all I know is that the Dre Beats company make a lot of money of school kids who want cool looking headphones that are actually quite good but not the best. This software you can slap on is just an advanced audio equalizer, if you don't want to, don't try it. It's not a massive difference, just a little bit more for music lovers that can't afford much above the Wildfire S.

Exactly, it's better post processing than Androids. I'm half deaf and i can hear the clarity increase. Why are people freaking out? Backup and flash it, if you think it doesn't work, don't use it.

I don't know man, beats are just rebranded monster headphones. Which are just another overpriced **** brand.

It's the same with skullcandys.. These headphones actually make me rage.. You know they stuck an actual motor in some models to mimic bass.. Ridiculous.

To be honest, depending on the type of music you listen to over-played bass isn't such a good thing, especially when they just amplify it all down to the lowest frequency possible. "Oh wow.. my ears are vibrating.. This music must be good!"

Even HTC's press releases are incredibly vague as to what makes beats models special, other than bundling the earphones with them.

As said bass is deeper and cleaner than before, dont expect that to change sound like you would be in somekind of studio.
Anyway if still can't figure it out what does it do then just dont flash it.
