As said bass is deeper and cleaner than before, dont expect that to change sound like you would be in somekind of studio.
Anyway if still can't figure it out what does it do then just dont flash it.

simply put more depth to the sound and it works no doubt

ps if you are a person who buy's the cheapest amp and speakers to say they got a custom sound system dont bother flashing this mod you wont get it

There aren't any other sounds at max volume, just pure bass.
Well, maybe I didn't paid attention to it before so I just think it is :D Anyway bass is better.

WHAT WHAT WHAT.. Seriously, I don't mean to impart any offence but how can just pure bass be considered anything but absolutely terrible? Wouldn't it just sound like a bumblebee or a distant earthquake?!

bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Or a vuvuzela

I'm having a little trouble understanding all the hate & animosity, people worked hard to bring this to us, yet some people seem determined to trash it before they've had the balls to even try it???

1. If you had bothered to read the whole thread then you would have seen that I've tried it.

2. I'm just venting some frustration with the fact that most of the comments in this thread have been so undefinably vague as to what it actually makes better. It's only after 30+ posts was it revealed that it was infact the bass which was supposed to be deeper. Infact your own response to the topic just echo'd that vagueness..

I listen to alot of my music thru my headphones when I'm on my motorbike so trust me when I say there is a difference, its not massive as, don't forget its still a cell fone after all. I have two wildfire s's in my house as I also have a virgin branded one for work & if I play the same song on both fones for say my missus, even she can hear the difference

again its not wildly different but its certainly noticeable

EDIT: to the guy above what app is that your using for the test pls?
You never mention what the difference is! How this managed to go on for 30 posts is astounding to say the least.

You also seem to be misinterpreting my above described feelings as hate, I can assure you that's not the case.

To be really honest, I couldn't care less what the difference is. I want ICS. :D

Myself, I don't trust ANY flashable zip that doesn't have a proper description.

Like Thrawed said, 30+ posts in, and all we have is "thanks. It works" comments...

What works? The fact that it just flashed inside CWM? So does Android malware...

Also, bass =/= better sound.

Don't see what the problem is!

Do a nandroid backup flash the beats zip.

If you notice the difference in sound and like it great.

If not restore the backup.

Malware lol, this is a Dev forum and the beats zip works on all gingerbread and ics rom's from what I have read elsewhere, so don't you think the clever dev's of the xda community would notice if it was filled with malware!

Hard saying if they would notice. I see 30+ people flashing it without (as far as I know, anyway) even checking the zip out. So my initial response is, of course, probably not.

I see your point if a nandroid being a useful way to test flashable zips, but they don't always restore. I've had several nandroid backups fail to restore my phone. The way I see it: why take unnecessary risks, when you can just as easily discover the zip source and do a bit of reading. (Which, I did. Its legit, and does offer some audio improvement in the mid and low ranges.)

You say this is a dev forum. So pick the thing apart and find out how it works instead of relying on nandroids to cover your mistakes.

That's all I'm trying to say.

I for one, would be really interested if the source could be tracked down. From my perspective, it seems there are a bunch of these beat zips everywhere varying slightly for different roms but there doesn't seem to be an original credited author.

Actually tracking down this specific zip would probably be next to impossible. As you said, there are multiple "Beats" zips floating on XDA and elsewhere. But from what I can gather, they were originally modified to work on only HTC phones, not just the HTC packaged phones. Someone then modified it to work on any Gingerbread ROM.

I'll still pass. I don't need enhanced mids/lows when listening to Killswitch, ATR, In Flames, etc.. Maybe if I throw on some Dayton Family or Bone, but if thats the case, I'll use my iPod lol.

Fair point mate.

I have only ever had 1 bad nandroid though, maybe I just been lucky.

I backup pretty often and don't delete the older nandroid until the newer nandroid has been restored, that way if it goes bad I wont be left without a backup.

I will test this properly tomorrow I have some pretty decent sennheiser headphones.

Although I flashed this already and the quality sounds pretty good, I was so eager that I didn't think to do a before and after comparison.

So tomorrow I'll restore my last nandroid, test the audio, flash the zip and test again.

Will report my results.

Agree with bobdamnit and Thrawed... From my time being here and instaling and testing every1 version of cm7 that went out at this place i saw lot's of "you HAVE to have this one" app and "this 1 is gona make your device 10x faster" bla bla...
Hats off to *se-nsei. too, he's done lots of good to wfs community so far (especially with [S-OFF CAMPAIGN] ;)) but only thing i noticed from this 1 (and i instaled it pure for testing since i didn't used "stock" music player from cm7 a lot) is slightly lower sound of ringtone/alarm/notification sound, even those r on same lvl like before... and i'm gona test that up further since this needs proper testing ;)

P.S. to bobdamnit... killswitch engage, in FLAMES dammit!! now we r talking about :D
