Installed your latest June 20th 2k version on my Note 4 (Marshmallow).

When I save a video from the Gear 360 to my device, it crashes at 100% and nothing shows up in My Device tab after app restart.

However, if I browse to DCIM/Gear 360/ in file manager, I see the newly stitched video there. Now if I 'open with' and select Samsung Gear 360 Manager app, it opens and plays the 360 video in all its glory. :)

And then after a little while, when I reopen the app, it finally shows it there in the My Device tab.

There was one instance where in file manager, the final stitched video was appended with ".MP4.TEMP". I removed the .TEMP and "open with: Samsung Gear 360 Manager" and it worked.

logcat:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-lAyfkO-k_GNWkwVGVBS3J5Mkk

Thanks!
Thank you for the log. Your device runs out of memory!! Are you using knox / device encryption? I see an encryption process grabbing a file and encrypting it, which is clearly contra-productive in terms of memory problems :D :D If you are using device encryption please try to disable it and re-rung the tests!

Best Regards

Awesome, it works my Xiaomi Note! Except for can't transfer video to my phone. Once it reach 100% then the pop up just staying there. Did anyone else experience that as well?
But really handy for now still, save me some big bucks to go samsung phone. Really appreciated your hardwork and sharing!

Browse to DCIM/Gear 360/ and you'll see it there. Close and reopen app and it'll show up. This happened to me too. It appears to be a memory issue.

Update still not full res on S6

Hi,

Once again thanks for these updates!

I Installed the june 20th version as the previous one crashed whenever I tried importing/stitching full res on my S6. The new version quits at the very same point. I choose the file, shot at 3840, to save to my S6 and it starts the proces but after about 28% the app shuts down.

What could be wrong here?

I attempted to get a logcat from adb, but I believe my phone isn't changing to debug mode when I connect it to a computer, even though I have enabled debugging mode.

I installed the latest version of Gear 360 manager on this thread, and am still having the same issues where I cannot transfer videos or pictures from the camera. I am also unable to load live view.

I downloaded an app called "alogcat" and am hoping this is the same information as a normal logcat file.

Here is the debug info from alogcat:

logcat apps won't work unless you're rooted.

Unrooted, follow the instructions here: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/get-logcat-reporting-bugs-android/

Thanks, but as ThaiM mentioned, you need to do it from adb. This is not a full log and misses the important parts :/

Best Regards

S6 not processing full res.

I cannot tell you without a log.

Well, I only use the S6's for Gear VR demos, they are not rooted, I don't know how or even if I want to. I guess I'm stuck then.

I will try future versions to see if it works or else if Samsung updates their app or even releases a MacOS version!

Thanks nonetheless!

You do not need to be rooted, you just have to grab the log with your pc, when doing on PC there is no neet for root!

I also have a black liveview followed by the app not responding. I'm on a S5 with 6.0.1. This happens either in 2k or 4k

I have the phone rooted, if you tell me how i can get the correct log I can post it here.
Thanks

Hi, first thanks for the try, but the log is too short and misses the important stuff. Since you are rooted, could you try to provide a log through adb?
adb logcat > log.txt

this would create a log.txt in the current folder. Thanks.

Best Regards

Was unable to discover how to do adb, anyway installed catlog and started recording before opening the app and stopped afterwards, so it should be here.

Please take a look.
(had to zip it because the forum didn't accept a file this big in txt)

Note: Also tried to run the app on an LG G3 with the exact same result

OK, I installed LogRabbit (MacOS) but it won't run telling me to do a terminal command but that doesn't work. No clue what I'm actually doing anyway, I give up

That's good.
An additional information, I've a custom rom that identifies my S5 as an S7 (PhoenixROM) so I'm able to use the 360 manager from the play store. The live view problem occurs with the original app also.

Please try this:
rename in your build prop your manufacturer from "samsung" to something else.
