Viper4android works fine with selinux enforced overall but with a slight change to the mediaserver permissions...

What I did:

Install Viper4android and the super quality drivers.

Reboot.

Before opening Viper4android after reboot, run this in terminal emulator as root:

/system/xbin/supolicy --live "allow mediaserver mediaserver_tmpfs:file { read write execute };"

Then open viper4android and it'll be enabled and running properly. Tweak as desired. For me I'm using a profile I found somewhere on here called Enhanced Clarity Pure Bass+ 3.0 and it sounds phenomenal. There are some irs files you'll need for it also but they're linked in that post.

Edit: This profile - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46337335

If you want viper4android to function across all your music apps, you'll need to comment out the deep_buffer section of the audio_policy.conf file and then reboot.

Remember to run that mediaserver policy change each time you reboot or you can script it if you want. Then you can leave selinux enforcing for security.

This also lets you use the hifi DAC with viper4android running, provided you have headphones, a speaker or an aux cable connected. Enjoy.

If you want to be my guinea pig, here is an advanced modified mixer with ext speaker mods and DAC mods for headphones. I haven't tried it yet but in theory it should work. Lol. Don't anyone else try this file unless you know how to undo it. I'm not responsible for blown speakers, ear drums, or women throwing panties at you cuz your speakers kick. :)

I installed this one hoping the speaker would be louder for notis. I notice no difference.

I thought it was louder...could have been the song though. I normally blast this in shower every morning, all the way, now I wouldn't need to.

Viper is ridiculous on this phone. With hifi off, this thing sounds incredible. I also have the mixer path modded too. Can't listen at full volume anymore.

So that's viper on the snapdragon dac since hifi is off?

Yes. Personally, I think it sounds better on the snapdragon then the ess sabre.

"LolliViPER.zip will install Viper to priv-app and remove Audio FX, DSP Manager, and Music FX. It will also edit the audio_policy.conf for added app compatibility and add a script to allow Viper to work with SELinux enforcing with SuperSU. ***BONUS for ROMs with addon.d support-the zip will place a script into addon.d that will automatically backup and restore everything changed by the zip on dirty flashes eliminating the need to flash every update so long as you do not do a manual system wipe.***"

Not sure if mine is working without using SELinux Mode Changer because the damn thing was already installed and running prior to trying lolliviper. As a matter of fact i'm gonna set it back to enforcing and uninstall Selinux mode changer and see what happens.

Ok, Viper still working even after setting selinux mode changer back to enforcing and uninstalling it, booting to recovery and wiping cache and dalvik (not sure if it mattered) and then rebooting.

Does this allow you to use the hifi DAC?

so wait, you prefer viper4android over the ESS dac? that seems interesting, please offer your opinions

nice mod by the way, does it also impact, improve the speaker? I have one on the way out of curiosity, but I keep reading how poor the speaker and bluetooth output are. Does viper make a noticeable improvement?
Viper can't even compare to the DAC/AMP.... Viper just adds software noise in my opinion. (actually I think its the exact opposite of audiophile. Tried it on my M8 and was horrified) Kind of like zooming in to a digital photo without optical zoom on the camera. In other words software can only take you so far in terms of creating a physical quality such as waves and volume

Viper is definitely a more fun sound. I prefer it. I added it last night and I'm so much happier.
