Can you confirm that it really works after you have uploaded a big file/video for example?

You don't have to wait for the storage to fill the free 15 GB, you can just upload some pic/vid and check if it counted towards your unlimited backup or not.

Just upload a big video file, go to your Google drive quota, search for big files. If it does count towards your quota you will find the video file listed there.

Get a Google Pixel, they go for cheap, old ones and keep it purely for backing up photos/videos

I'm pretty sure Google recently updated google photos to prevent the thing from working in their apk. Try combinding it with pixelify magisk module to spoof fingerprints.
