Sorry mate not going anywhere near your blog or thread again. Bye
hi aussie1234,
thx for ur info. ok, it's a tracking cookie. what it does is to keep track of some of your browsing histories, region, preferences, etc, which is not harmful except u'll exposed yourself on the internet. you cant avoid all these thing unless you adopt the security level 0 (zero), which is to unplug your computer
here's what f-secure quoted:
'Normal' cookies are a type of data saved by a website onto the user's computer during a visit to the site. Cookies are not malware and are not inherently malicious - they do not harm the computer system or the user's stored information. Due to privacy concerns however, they are often unwanted.
'Tracking' cookies are a specialized type of cookie that can be shared by more than one website. Though tracking cookies may be used by websites to present a visitor with customized content, they can also potentially be used to track a user's web browsing behavior. As such, they may pose a slight risk to a user's privacy.
Almost all modern web browsers now offer users the ability to disable cookies, ensuring their web browsing history is not recorded. Unfortunately, many websites require cookies to function correctly, so the user must carefully evaluate the costs and benefits of cookie use and how their privacy and web browsing experience may be affected.
and from symantec:
Are Cookies Dangerous?
Contrary to what some users may think, cookies are NOT inherently malicious or dangerous. If you run a scan and you find a tracking cookie, the tracking cookie does not represent a malware infection. These are low to minimal security issues. We have seen many security companies and free "Spyware Removal Tools" emphasize detection of cookies, calling them Spyware and Trackware and stating that you are "infected", which is most unlikely to be the case. Cookies and the information they store are more related to privacy concerns.
actually it depends on what security level is set in your antivirus. the strictest will disallow any site to store anything in ur computer, including ur login, previous logon time, etc. in fact, these kind of warning can be seen anywhere, especially for IE, including here in xda as u can see from the image below
but if u think it's not acceptable to leak any info, then yes, it could be a threat
hope that u understand what concerned u is not a real threat, and it's not me to try to harm u or anyone. anyway, i will respect ur decisions even u decided to keep a mile away from me
PS no negative meaning at all. if there is any, it's due to my poor english and i didnt mean it
