so this is the way I created partitions, hope it's good
[/IMG]

did full wipe, installed latest CyanogenMod12 by ivanich, flashed pico gapps, and then this MOD, and did restart from recovery

my device didnt reboot after boot animation, it turns on ( android is upgrading), then appears cynogen startup where i choose language and there screen goes black and phone turns off, and when turning on it stuck on boot animation (waited over 30 min) and nothing happening.
I repeated the whole process few times from beginning and evey time have the same problem, so what am I doing wrong?? (using latest 4ext recevory)
I had this issue but resolved by doing a advanced wipe in Ivanich TWRP.
Which recovery are you using?

I got better read and write speed results after partitioning the microsd from twrp or any other recovery, than when using gparted on a computer

Is this the correct order when flashing?
1 ROM
2 gapps
3 this mod

v3 question . . .

What's the rationale for splitting the davlik and data into separate partitions vs. allowing them to share a single larger partition? Better performance? And does v3 then leave the legacy /data partition unused? Could it be used for swap like in v1?

Just curious. Thanks!

Fuuuuuu...!
I get: "encryption unsuccessful"
Why? Who is the culprit?

I just dirty flashed latest ivanich's cm12.1, delta gapps and this mod plus v3
I never encrypt anything because I always forget passwords.
I'll gladly use encryption but "successfully" at least

Edit: I formatted all partitions except the microsd storage one, and I flashed the 3 zip files in different order. But I'm still stuck in the "encryption unsuccessful" screen every time I boot.
I suspect mod plus v3 is the culprit, so I'll try to go back to v2

Yeah something seems wrong with plus v3 related to encryption, v2 worked

yeah, was wondering the same, it would be a pity to don't use internal data for something

Yeah that order should be fine, I always flash mod straight after rom though like rom, mod, then gapps if a clean install.

Well users have been posting that dalvik on sd-ext works well so I thought of making one similar but having user apps on sd-ext too but to have both without symlinks, separate partitions are needed with my method used.
The internal data partition (userdata) is used for data besides dalvik and user apps.

I don't know what causes this yet but I know I did experience it when using f2fs on cm11 by mistake, it came up with the same error. I haven't experience it yet besides then. Maybe a bad file system. Did you create two sd-ext's on sdcard and does twrp support creating a second sd-ext? I know it doesn't mount the second one in recovery but is it able to create it.
I'm using plus v3 with cm12.1 16-05 version and works fine here, previously was using it with 05-05 and fine too.
I got v3.1 too which should be better on battery which I will upload soon.

Yeah it's being used for data but without dalvik and user apps.

What should i do if i have flashed a new ROM.?

The Dev says that the mod should only flashed if SD-Ext is clean. But my sd-ext isnt clean if i update my Rom and had SD-Ext-Mod installed before...

Should i flash that Mod still again?

If your just updating your rom, no need to wipe unless moving from cm11 to cm12.
Just flash the same mod you flashed previously straight after flashing rom update.

I think I made partitions and filesystems as you advised with twrp. In microsd I have a sdext in f2fs, 512 swap and the rest in fat.
Cache f2fs
Data (sdext) f2fs
System ext4
Dalvik (internal) ext4
...

I had to wipe and format everything to reinstall ROM and mod, but plus v3 still failed. Plus v2 worked

What did you change this time?
What does this mod do related to encryption compared to default?
Could you expand a little on how encryption should be set up?

Idea: include security features in the mod. Take a look at what secdroid app does, it's on fdroid or xda too, although it may be useless or outdated by now.

Also maybe it would be nice to have a plus mod with dalvik on SD and swap on internal, because for what I see, dalvik grows a lot, and I don't have many apps

anyone have a mirror for BOOT-MOD-1.1? downloading from Mega seems not working for me.
Try an app called mega downloader

Mod does not enable encryption, the reason you are getting that error is because you didn't create a second sd-ext, TWRP doesn't support sd-ext2. Dalvik partition can be bigger if you need it to be. Ok latest mod could be bit confusing if you can't create an second partition and I don't really want to modify recovery to do so.
So does most people want all data on sd and internal swap? Cos I only want to make one plus version

Third version is set like this:
internal data = data
sdext = dalvik
sd-ext2 = apps (& libs for cm12)

@hinxnz, just another question, I flashed v2.1 and installed all my app already. If I want to flash v. 1.1, will it be deleting my previously installed apps?

No it won't delete your apps but wipe data partition in recovery first before flashing ROM and mod 1.1
Wiping internal data will wipe dalvik-cache from 2.1

I have 3 partitions in my 32 gb sd-card :

one Fat32 of 24 GB
one F2FS of 2 GB for dalvik-cache
one F2FS of 2 GB for user apps

I want to install App Data mod, my question is, I have to create other partition for this??

Update

I have updated post #2 with new version, BOOT-MOD-PLUS v1.1
I have decided to remove all other versions in post #2 as I think this one is the most suitable mod.
If I update mod, it will be the same format and only improvements unlike previous ones as I am happy now how things are with this version.
Please note as written in post #2 that after flashing mod, you will get a data mount error in recovery, this is ok and expected because recovery doesn't recognize internal data (userdata) formatted as linux swap.

@hinxnz, you included your multiswap mod as well?

Man, this is really tempting me, just when I finished my Denny setup with boot-mod-v1.1.
