Mod with silicone case
There is a slight bulge on that picture which I have since tidied up by soldering the copper tape to the loop contacts. I could also tidy it more by routing one of the copper strips across the back on the inside of the case but that only occurred to me after fitting it together and at this moment I don't care enough about the looks, I'm happy it's working.
It stays on OK but would not take much to knock it off the touchstone. Due to the rear stand, I had to put the loop lower down the back and off-centre, so it is about as unstable as it could be. If you dont have a case with this feature, you could put the loop where it is supposed be and I think you would have much more stability.
I can attach more photos of the inside etc if anyone is interested.
Thanks for the info on the original mod guys!
I have done the mod using a TPU case and they do hold in place. However, thinking that every milimetre counts, I put the pre charging loop inside the TPU case but outside the N7100 case to make it that much closer. My case is partly transparent, so have attached a picture of what it looks like from the back.does anyone know if the magnets are strong enough to hold the phone in place on the touchstone with a very thin plastic/rubber tpu case on it?
