I don't think that in this day and age apps aren't zipaligned yet. If you want, you can extract the APKs out and see if they are zipaligned using Windows applications.@pikachu01
I've tried every zipalign binary I found laying around, none work in kitkat.I need it badly for my sister's phone uses quite a lot of RAM and I suspect the system apps aren't zipaligned, or atleast multiple user apps.

RAM issues are usually due to apps running in the background. Install Greenify and see what apps linger in the background even when it's closed.
