MOD works on on i9505XXUFNC9 Stockfirmware (odexed).

People with stock firmware (odexed) should reboot into recovery and wipe dalvik chache & chache after modify system partitions.
I thinks that's the reason why this mod doesn't work for some people.

Can anyone confirm or deny what this does on Omega 28?

Music seems to sound better without this patch at times..

Thank you for taking the time in advance.

Please explaine ??? Where can I find "Voice Speaker Extra Gain" is it an APP ??
using notepadd++ on a pc, you can edit the file "snd_soc_msm_2x_Fusion3" (and "snd_soc_msm_2x_Fusion3_auxpcm"?) from the system/etc/sn_soc_msm/ directory pon your phone to change all the values for the sound levels as you wish.

- copy the file(s) from your phone to pc

- SAVE AN UNTOUCHED COPY AS "snd_soc_msm_2x_Fusion3.bak" (and "snd_soc_msm_2x_Fusion3_auxpcm.bak"?) AND STORE SOEMWHERE SAFE!!!!

- edit as you desire (don't go too high or you might blow your speakers/headphones/EARS?!?!?)

- copy back to phone and set permissions to rw r r

- reboot phone (maybe required to wipe davlik to?)

- enjoy louder sound in whichever settings you have altered.

- if you make a mistake, just copy the ".bak" file(s) to your phone and rename to remove the .bak extionsion, set permissions and reboot

::EDIT::

I basically edited anything that was set below 69.0% (most things were 67.7% by default) to be raised up to 69.0% I found the moderate setting of 70+ to be still a bit distorted for me on top volume, but 69.0 is still noticeably louder than stock without distorting the music. just tested the phone in call and using speakerphone and it hasn't had any detrimental effect to that, still working fine, so I'm happy with this setup I think.

::EDIT::

Found a really easy way to make these edits with notepad++

- Copy all files from the snd_soc_msm directory to your mem card (and then to your pc).

- Open all files with notepad++

- Click search then replace.

- In the "find what" box type:- ([0-6][0-9].[0-9])%

- In the "replace with" box type:- 69.7%

- Click replace all in all open documents.

- Close notepad++ and save all changes.

- copy the edited files back to the /system/etc/snd_soc_msm/ folder

- set permissions to rw-r--r--

- reboot (optional? into recovery and clear cache/dalvik)

- enjoy louder sound :)

Using this method you don't have to painstakingly search through the sound files to find all the values that need to be replaced, the search string will find all % values that are between 00.0% and 67.9% and replace them all with 69.7%

I find that if you go above 69.7% it tends to just distort the sound, this value, for me gives the best boost while still retaining audio quality.

hey guys..

i have found out that on latest GNE5 base the file has changed quite a lot and the old provided goes in bootloop.

so i've runned a search into and found also some other changes in names and coments:

"Voice speaker extra gain" should now be "Call Speaker Extra Vol"
"Speaker Extra Gain" now is "Speaker Extra Vol"
"Headphones" is now "Headset"

HERE'S a zip with medium increasead values..

enjoy

guys i have i9500,i am on stock kitkat rom i didn't found such file snd_soc_msm in etc folder.i am using root explorer.Kindly help.....
Hi, i have no idea if i can help as if i don't own a 9500 to check, but can you look and see if you have /system/etc/mixer_paths.xml ?
(In Nexus 5 the file for boosting sound is situated over here)
If you have that file you should open it in an editor (save a copy first in case something goes wrong) and search for 'speaker' & 'digital volume' in the same place and test the settings by increasing the volume numbers.
