Is there a good tutorial for how to set up and use apktool with GSIII or Note II? I found a bunch of different old ones for other devices and I couldn't get it working.
Is there any possible way you could make the stripped version to work with beans ROM??
Everything on my phone is themed in red and black and the beans ICS blue icons are pretty but they don't match my phone at all.
In my Galaxy 3 I had a simple red/black theme that looks awesome, but of course it won't work in the Note 2
I tried using the posted one with beans ROM but then I had no taskbar at all... LOL

Hey guys,
I've somehow wrecked my System UI. I've got no pull-down notification bar, etc. I can still use the device but the UI stuff is all gone.
I tried installing both of the files (black and regular) to no avail. What's worse is that the "original" file doesn't repair it either.
I'm running rooted VErizon stock, but it's deodexed. I'm wondering if that's the reason? If so, any help to get back to normal is appreciated. thanks!

Thats it exactly, this is not for deodexed. But the fix is easy, just reflash the root image you used in odin and it will be back. But if you modded anything or deleted any bloat it will be back.
I have no idea how to do that.
Samsung actually turned the Notifications bar black in the new GT-N7100 4.1.2 release. I guess they don't care about it anymore either.
First pull framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk. Then in apktool before you decompile system UI type
java -jar apktool.jar if framework-res.apk, then the same command for twframework_res. Then decompile systemui.apk

I tried to do this and it just gave me a bunch of file not found errors. I'm clearly doing something wrong.
Now that I have an unlocked bootloader and a deodexed ROM though, I need to odex my own ROM first before I can continue blowing things up for fun.
Has anybody tried this to odex your ROM -?

If someone could deodex the black one with the location icon removed, I'd really appreciate it. Trying to wrap my head around how to do it myself, but I've failed so far.
+1 I'm on Rev3 right now, but will be moving to a deodexed "stock" ROM soon until more TW roms hit the board.
I decompile and compile a SystemUI from beanstown106 stock Deodexed and added Wifi toggle and black status bar with no eGPS icon
