Holy sh...you guys are fantastic! Typing this from webtop!

Kind of feel sorry for the folks who bought the laptop dock though.

Thank you!

Edit: Anyone know how to remove the annoying att verify message?

I seem to have a problem... let me first explain what I did... I made a backup of my provider, service, and portal .apk's then I copied and replaced those said files with the one's from the Op using root explorer... rebooted... I then hook up the HDMI cable after the system loaded to see if it worked... nothing poped up to to let me know to start webtop or multimedia... so I then suspected something went wrong, so I put my original, backed up apk's in system/app using adb. But I still get nothing when I hook up the hdmi after reboot. I am running Adeo rom with gingerbread theme.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thank you

Im not good with ADB and I also dont know what Deodexed means. Is it possible you guys will make this in a simple APK that can be downloaded and installed with Root access? I would LOVE to get this working! Good job!

Can you do an "adb logcat" while plugging in the hdmi cable and post the results here?

This may be silly, but make sure you have the other end of the HDMI cable plugged in and the source on the tv/monitor set accordingly.

I know that with one of my TVs, if I have it set for HDMI1 while the phone is plugged in to HDMI2, the phone won't recognize it and nothing works as I'd expect...

The laptop dock allows webtop on the go. No TV required. :D This hack is sweet though, It'll save me the $108 off the media dock and keyboard combo set thingie for at home. Thank you OP!

ok... but what type of format you want the logcat in?

and yes the hdmi cable is hooked to the tv... i was able to manually launch the web top using /osh/etc/init.d/startX.sh in terminal.

Awesome work. Does the hardware dock still work the same after the install? Im suspecting the dock "hands off" in software the signal of the connected monitor to the phone when docked. I still want to keep usb host mode for future mods

yea... see that's the thing ive been looking at logcat... plugging and unplugging the hdmi cable in to see what it is dooing. and around the line
1aa890affffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
is when it is plugged in...
also to note is that provider, service, and portal .apk's are not rinning when i check my running processes... they are there when i check through root explorer, but not running... it looks like they are not installing correctly somehow...
