I have the latest verson of Ouya firmware that allows you to use external storage. How can I have Google Play store or Amazon large games d/l to the externel storage and then have Ouya see them when I want to play?

Well, the update blocking mod doesn't stop it from downloading and installing, and keeping root also failed. But after re-rooting, I was still able to use this pack to install the Play Store. I don't use the resolution or overscan adjustments, but I'll test the Moga emulation this weekend if nobody beats me to it.

i was able to install play store on OUYA, but every time I click on Play Sotre, it poped up and closed right away.....What did i miss here?

After installing updade and rebooting system CWM ask if I want to disable recovery flash, shoild I or not?

.. Dont forget to install xposed frame work & give check on mod collection in module tab..

.. Afaik.. The question is whether you want to fix the recovery.. The answer is "No" ..

.. Yep.. No big issue.. Just re rooted & re checked on xposed and enable mod collection.. For moga.. Need to install moga pivot..

CWM detect the Ouya update will replace the Recovery to stock recovery on next reboot. So, you should disable it. Or you will get a "red exclamation mark" on next update if you enable the preserver SU function

Okay, so I've tried the Moga emulation just a little. The Pivot app believes I have a Moga controller, and I can navigate around the app with no problem. So it's at least partly working after the Abominable Snowman update.

I tried the game Final Freeway 2R. It asks for root as expected, which I granted. The game automatically detects and enables Moga controller support. But the actual controls don't work inside the game. I can sort of waggle the car left and right, but I was able to do that much without the emulation. None of the buttons does anything, so I can't accelerate.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to test this prior to the update, since it was pushed to my system the same day I decided to try rooting it. It could be this game already wasn't working.

Anyone have troubles with the latest update? It downloads and I hit "OK" to start installing but halfway through I get a red "!" and then the OUYA reboots and goes through the update process again. I am not sure if it has to do with root and the Mod Collection stuff or is unrelated.

If you have the MODS then you need CWM recovery in order to install the new update or you can disable the mod and update the console but after you will have to re-root and re-install the mods all over again...

Thanks for clearing this up for me. BTW, will you be doing a binding mod so that we can d/l large Playstore and amazon games direct to externel storage, what about the extra data some games need, how will that work?

I understand why the random alerts about Google Play services being stopped keep showing up. But they've interrupted my gaming a few times. Is there a way to suppress the pop-ups?

you know, now that i think about it my OUYA won't boot into CWM recovery and i have it installed also, i just updated again and i had to disable the mod and then re-booted and installed the update, then i re-rooted with the one click root app...i just tried to install CWM recovery but it stays on a black screen...don't know whats going on...

At one point i was getting them all of the time so i just did a factory reset and did the Mod all over again and it seem to fix the issue, NOW i'm not telling you that this is what you should do...I also got this before when using certain google apps like Sixaxis app...

I just tested rebooting to CWM recovery from the mods app, and it's still working for me.

i finally got CWM recovery installed and running again...i tried using this method again ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2295645 but it didn't want to work, so i tried this one---> http://ouyaforum.com/showthread.php?5159-OUYA-One-Click-CWM-Recovery and it worked, after it was done it booted to CWM recovery right away...:victory: now i'm all set.

I'm not ready to go that route yet. I tried wiping cache and dalvik, to no effect. Fortunately, the games I use from the Play Store don't use it as a DRM check, so I'm able to get rid of the messages by disabling the Google Play APKs from the settings menu until I need to use the store again.
