I spent the night messing with the build prop, bumping it up in the screen density by 20 brought back my screen enough to be tolerable. anymore and it gets distorted. I reverted back anyway I messed with doing tweaks for 1080 I, trying to force a height and with. I am convinced if all the 720P mod does is edit the build prop. then it's BS It tricks the logcat to read 720p but the damn console still broadcasts in 1080p. Im pretty much 100 percent sure it's why Cpu - Z reports 1080p cause it is!, telling me it's reporting the screen as 1080P is a lie , I have a 2006 720P only Samsung 32 inch, there is no overscan setting and it's still the same cut off screen , mod or not. yet go to my 1080p insignia turn off overscan, run stock build prop and magically it all looks gorgeous. We need a fix plain and simple.

Link is down. :(

Quick question. I have Xposed mods + play store installed right now. If the ouya downloads an official update, will it brick me? Or will it just reboot with no superuser permissions?

Tried this specifically for the 720p force. For whatever reason my OUYA does not detect my display properly and runs at 720x480. I have a 720p capable display.

I tried the force 720p but there was no change after reboot. The app shows that 720p is ON. Still running at 720x480.

Thanks for this. My ouya actually performs so much better with 720p forced. That includes gaming and HD video.

Same result with v3.0

I just tried the Overscan Fix. For my results, 0.0 is better than default but still too large. 0.1 is too small, gives me a border, and makes a lot of things look fuzzy, like fonts and whatnot in XBMC (the app I tried out first when I found out about this). Speaking of XMBC, on the default value I have to lower my video zoom value to .92 but on 0.0 I only have to lower to .96. It's not perfect but it's progress. I'm hoping to see an in-between on the scaling values already used.

Everything on this Mod works except the force HDMI resolution 720p mod, i still get the Overscan :(...even changing scale val to any of the 4 does nothing for me, neither Mod_collection4ouya.2.0 or Mod_collection4ouya.3.0 fix the Overscan on my OUYA  ...But the rest of the Mods are awesome :good: keep up the good work...

I'm in the same boat with 3.0 except the settings for 1.0 and so on actually make it worse. I did notice something realllly odd a 26 inch insignia tv at work from about 2008 scales fine and it has no overscan settings. my samsung's 2006 same setup but 32 inch overscan issues. i'll post a print out from your debug and try a build prop edit.

It was set to 720p when I started. Tried Max, same result, still 720x480 after reboot. Also tried Auto, 1080p, same result.

This thing just doesn't like my setup.

Didn't have any luck with the SU & MODS Preserver and yesterdays update. Every time I tried to run the update it would ask to grant su permissions to the OUYA Framework. I failed to allow this last time and lost SU and the Play store, so this time I allowed it. Tried about 7 times and every time the OUYA would reboot and start installing the update, then go to a black screen with the OUYA logo with a red "!" and the update would fail to install.

Since I don't really have a problem with re-rooting, I declined the request to grant su to the OUYA Framework to see if it was preventing the update for some reason and it was. After denying su the update installed without any issues but I lost SU and the play store again.

Let me know if there's any information I can provide to help figure this out. For now I'm just going to keep automatic updates disabled and ignore updates for a while.

Thanks

Could the fact that some of us keep losing root even with your mod have something to do with which OUYA we're using? I know mine's a kickstarter unit and that caused problems with the OUYA toolbox.

I managed to keep root after the latest update. The update actually said it failed with a system 7 error but it went in ok.

I did have to reinstall the google apps though.
