I've done some testing this morning. I've concluded at at this time the latest MGK 8.7 with custom config and so file are the best going forward. OpenCamera can control the shutter/iso but has no tracking and is a clunky interface.

It is very hard to find and then download the latest config/so files, so I attach them here. This is for P7. I don't know if they work for P7P.
Did u try newest
Skyyking_8.7_v8f.so
P7_Skyyking_v9.xml

I do not use telegram, it's a closed-source messaging system created by and run by Russians.

I tried the latest MGM 8.8 but still has issues, like tracking doesn't work.

Back on MGC_8.7.250_A11_V15a_ENG with those v9 files above. The only thing I can't figure out is where HDR has gone, there is an option to change the amount of frames but that is all, and otherwise it appears to be disabled.

I've not seen a manual focusing mode on any though it supposedly exists. If you click where you want to focus and then long press the focus icon it will lock it.

Hello everybody, I recently bought a Pixel 7 precisely because I like the google camera capabilities a lot more than what the other manufacturers can achieve. However when I was reviewing the pictures I took on a trip I noticed that while I appreciated a lot of the processing that was done to the raw image It felt "overdone". Specifically it looks like the images are over-processed and the white balance feels not just changed but almost like there was a LUT applied. While the raw image was a bit too warm, soft and distorted the processed image felt like when you listen to a song where a person sings with autotune. The feeling that I had was that the image was starting from a very competent raw and ending up super overcooked.

To try to have more freedom I installed the BSG 8.7 with Skyking v4.so and v3.xml.
Now I'm not a noob when it comes to phtography but I admit that I feel lost when looking at the setting of the gcam mod. I was looking for someting like a sharpness slider to pull down or stuff like that but didn't find anything that remotely resembles that. Basically cannot understand what the vast majority of the settings do.

Can anybody please suggest an up to date guide on what each settings does? In the telegram group there are only a bunch of links and no real explanation/tutorial/discussion.

I tried to take a couple of pictures with the stock camera and the BSG with the config that I told you about and it seems that the BSG pumps up the shutter speed and ISO with the consequence of having a more noisy image so I guess that in order to actually achieve a better than stock result a person has to understand what each setting does in order to make educated decisions.

Nobody really knows what the skyking libraries do, and they are executables, produced by a Russian group that likes to keep itself on Telegram. I noticed no obvious difference using it.

I also find the images to be overly contrasty and it appears to be less to do with processing in the gcam app and more down to the middleware software inbetween the sensor and app. As far as I can tell the only bypass is to shoot raw.

I am also not able to set the camera gesture to open the modded camera, and the stock camera doesn't have any default, even disabling the stock camera doesn't work.
    EDIT:
Even factory resetting the phone doesn't work. Although I finally managed to change it by runtime resource overlay (with some hack with AOSPmods due to the signature problem)

Are there any mods for gcam that allows me to use pro/manual mode?

Is there a mod that allows me to modify the astrophotography timelapse time? It's set to 4:02 by default, producing a 1ish second time lapse.

I'd like to be able to set it to 40/50 minutes and walk away instead of having to click the shutter every 4 minutes.

Thread lightly cleaned. I can't say it any simpler than this. If you can't be polite, then either report the post, or don't reply at all.

Is there a working modded gcam for the 7 Pro?

I want to be able to take pictures that don't look like someone ran them through the sharpening and saturation filters from an instagram knock-off app. I'm coming from the Pixel 2 XL, and the overprocessing of the Pixel 7 is so blatant.

I think it would be good if you can share the modded .apk version that you use, along with the config & lib.

So other can try and prove it themself. Seeing and trying is believing, i think, hahaha.
I agree. If somebody is going to claim something is better without explaining how to use it properly then it’s not really being helpful. I’d like to see a copy of the file, modified, the config, and the lib with an explanation on how to install them for anyone that’s not really sure.

Further, it would be good for a quick walk-through on settings that are generally excepted as optimum for the Gcam mod.

No doubt that Gcam mod is much better than stock camera.
