latest Arnovas and BSGs have that option -> https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/

I installed both ! Arnovas version show black screen in viewfinder and not taking photo but portrait,blurred and video works. BSGs version i think HDR+ not working and video has weird aspect ratio.
Only this version works (MGC_5.3.015_4) but no blurred background mode

on my mi mix 2 both work, no FC or black screen

so for mi mix 2 you suggest BSGs versions, a not Arnovas?
I tried both versions and none of them gives me less compressed results than original Miui10 Camera App. BUT, lowlight HDR+Enhanced is unbelivable.

I think those were mage with BSG, but I'm getting same results with Arnovas... be sure to use HDR+Enhanced

I am talking about an app, since i am not able to deal with the root.

For me everything works. Slowmotions etc. but the video quality is really bad. It is way to dark, even at 30 FPS. The video recording on the Mi5 for example was really good and the Mi5 had a much worse chip. Anyone know a version where video recording looks good?

Yes. 5.0.25 is working flawlessly

5.0.35 instead is not working and shooting only in B&W with rear and completely black from front one

I'm still waiting to receive the device. Since it works fine for you, would you say that GCam really improve the quality of Mix2 camera? Or the pics aren't that great anyways?
I have a OnePlus 5, and GCam make miracles in low light situations, but I don't know what to expect on the mix2

Well, I came from Honor8 which (with LG G4) was able to take very beautiful photo (see attachment 1 and 2)

Mix2 isn't so good, but with GCam it become acceptable in low light (attachment 3 and 4)
Definitely stock cam is unusable

@Arnova8G2, I think I found a bug with this version for the mi mix 2. Selfie portrait do not capture unless front camera hdr+ mode is triggered first, then going to portrait from the menu. Can you figure out why?
