If you flash a modem for the S3 on the Note... I don't know what would happen, but it would be like trying to put a BMW engine into an Audi. Alright, maybe that CAN be done, but anyway, you get the idea.Hi guys.... Just a few questions....
I've come from the S3 and now using the GT-N7000.... I had 2 modems I used in different JB roms when I had the S3 for my Canadian Rogers Wireless Carrier.....
Does it matter the modem per phone or is it the Carrier that matters? Can I flash the modems I used with my S3 on to my GT-N7000? Or do I need to stick with the International Country Modems specific for this phone that come with the Burt Rom I'm running now??
So is it Phone, Country, Carrier or Hardware specific the Modem I flash?
I'm in Windsor, Ontario Canada... On the Rogers Wireless Carrier.... Using the Galaxy GT-N7000... Rooted... Running the JB Burt Rom... On the XXLSC Modem....
Thanks in advance for any help.... Just wanted some clarification.....

If your Note is N7000 (the international version, not the I717 or I9220), all of the modems you find in this thread are compatible. The latest is UBLS1 (for JellyBean - works well on the latest TouchWiz JB leaks and CyanogenMod JellyBean). For TouchWiz ICS, I suggest you use XXLR1 / LRB / LRK (try them out, see which one provides the best reception - test each for two days or so).

Off-topic : you switched from the S3 to the Note? Why?! Or perhaps you have a S3 and a Note, in which case I kind of envy you.
Off-topic #2 : am about to sell my Note and buy a S3, or exchange it for a white Galaxy Nexus... *crisis situation in my head*
So you had the I717 / I9220, which uses Snapdragon sh*t.LOL Hey thanks for the info that was great....
Well I had the Canadian version of the Note first...... Then went to the S3 when it came out.. Rooted it and blah blah blah... But was missing the huge screen of the Note so did a trade for my S3 to the GT-N7000 and no the North American version cuz the GT uses is faster with the chip set in it.... Have it OClocked to 1.6gHz but most of the time I Underclocked @ 1gHz....Lol but I do have 2 extended Batteries @ 5000mAh......

Yes you are right about everything but I just like the bigger screen and was a straight up trade.... It's still pocketable for me so it's all good.... Running JB works wonders for the battery but still using the 5000mAh...lol....So you had the I717 / I9220, which uses Snapdragon sh*t.
The S3 is faster, has better battery life, better screen (technology) etc... is easier to put in a pocket... but the Note has such a gorgeous screen (size, not quality - reading text is awful at times, + the black clipping issue)... Not sure if I wanna sell it and buy the S3. I'd rather get a Nexus + some extra cash.
Overclocking to 1.6 GHz doesn't really make (too much) sense. The 1.6 GHz frequency won't be used too much. Playing Arcane Legends (you should know it by now!!! :silly: ), the 800 MHz frequency is used the most, with the 1.6 GHz one barely being used for a few seconds every few minutes.
OFF-TOPIC : OFF.
About that 5000 mAh battery... PM me the details about it - what battery it is (manufacturer, price etc.).Yes you are right about everything but I just like the bigger screen and was a straight up trade.... It's still pocketable for me so it's all good.... Running JB works wonders for the battery but still using the 5000mAh...lol....

On what ROM? In what country? The XXLSA modem has the best battery life.
I have tried many but th is one has the best.
on any jellybean samsung rom.On what ROM? In what country?
This statement, as FH shows, highly depends on ROM and region.,The XXLSA modem has the best battery life.
I have tried many but th is one has the best.
Well, GB was out like what... two years ago? Two years ago, we barely had quad cores. Now, the era of octa core is onto usThis unique thread is a great idea!
I have 2 questions though: The latest modems aren't necessarily the best. Why is this? I would have thought Samsung work on subsequent modems to improve on the last...?
And is there a fundamental difference between GB, ICS and JB modems in the same way GB, ICS and JB kernels are fundamentally different in that they are based on their respective sources? If yes does that mean in general JB, ICS and GB modems are in decreasing order of performance?
