But does the modem firmware run on the quad-core cpu, or on the radio chip? :)
I don't know. I think pretty much like the kernel, which connects the software to the processor and every hardware piece of the phone... The modem runs somewhere on the flash memory where it can control the radio chip.

Nothing is running on the actual CPU. It's not like you install a driver on it. The only thing accessible on the CPU is the cache... which is written to / read from only at the CPU's request (pretty much always). Correct me if I'm wrong...

Here comes the ZCLSD modem from the leaked LSD rom of the chinese Galaxy Note variant (I9220). Although it's meant for the I9220, it seems to work for the N7000, too.

The zip file is cwm-flashable.
Just flashed this on my gt n7000..... seems to be working well in America

The I9220 is the same exact hardware as the N7000.

Will test this new radio. Hopefully it provides better battery life than UBLS1.

It works but why is this modem 16MB while others were 12MB?
