Cool. Thanks man.

It works but why is this modem 16MB while others were 12MB?
According to that forum it was ripped from the I9220ZCLSD, a mainland China JB leak, so I'm not sure why the file size has changed.

Comparing between LSE and LSO, I find LSO to have better reception (based on RSSI and RSCP, not by looking at the bars alone).

XXLSO is 0.02 MB larger than ZCLSD :silly:

With the modems getting larger and larger (are they?), I suspect it means improvement... Let's just hope Sammy isn't failing at deploying the update. We need it, for f***s sake, we were supposed to get it long time ago. Middle of February is coming... what the hell -.-

LSD is also for i9220 and it's 12MB. LSE is 16MB.
For me XXLSO is giving very poor reception.

It's a little bit "technical": The size of the modem partition inside the Note is 16MB. But up to now all released modems only use about 12MB of this partition and all are exactly the same size. But if someone makes a dump of his Note's modem partition, this dump will be 16MB in size, so there will be about 4MB of unused "padding" data in it.
It's absolutely no problem to flash such a dumped modem. It's just not the real original modem file.

Of course I've made a 12MB ZCLSE modem for my own use ;) but I think it makes no sense posting it here, as the 16MB dumped version is already available and working in exactly the same way.

By the way, thanks to sutekidane for posting the latest modems!

XX modems are supposed to be for general USA / Europe. You're in India, so... DD would be for you. Or, since you're close to China (not sure if that matters or not - probably not :silly: ), ZC might do a better job than XX. Not sure.

I'll be testing XXLSO for at least a couple of days and throw in some results. Anyway, I'm running Asylum CM10.1, and, being CM10.1-based (apparently, still bugged here and there), I'm not expecting the Wi-Fi / Mobile indicators to do a pretty good job at indicating signal strenght... so my results might not be as accurate as one would expect. :(

So, the 12 MB modem just writes 12 MB out of 16 of the partition, while the 16 MB modem is actually a back up of the entire partition - so, of course, 4 MB of data would exist there because of the bytes that are... erm... basically null :p . No biggie.

DD works ok but I think ZC is better. I have used LSC and LSA as well and had no issues with it. But don't know what's the matter with LSO.

Thanks Space taxi for the explanation.

As expected. XX modems can't work well for everyone, everywhere. Try UBLS1 (although it's for Mexic, it might work well, as it seemed to perform well for European users). Otherwise, try ZC modems... Dunno...

Yeah. Good results here, too, in Romania.
