Sorry for not keeping up, just got a newborn baby boy this morning.

Congratulations, and I do appreciate the fact that you have updated us regularly when there was a baby on the way. Thank you and best wishes and good health for the baby and parents.

I know my comment could be late but still felt I had to do this.

I appreciate it, the past year has been quite the roler coaster ride with two boys, one at the age of two and the youngest just barely a year now.
And with my regular work where I travel in the range of 100 days a year, there really isn't that much spare time to invest into other activities.

aren't modems supposed to be region specific? why does it say latest modem but not from where it's from?

Sent from my SM-G930F using XDA-Developers Legacy app
If you want to get the Specific Firmware for your device and Carrier - Go to sammobile.com and search for your Device and Carrier - Download it to your computer and then Flash with Odin 3.12.3 - Then Download TWRP img.tar and then Flash with Odin 3.12.3 and go from there... What you are asking about is the CSC file that you can Flash if something posts it as a Flashable zip - Otherwise everything you need is incorrect in the Stock Firmware that includes the specific CSC for your device and Carrier that is one of the 4 files that you have to Flash with Odin 3.12.3 if you go that route.
The CSC is in addition to the Modem ?

And, what is important, Im still at MM modem and until now I havent experienced situation, when phone is on my table with no use and SMS with missed call notification arrive as before.

So I will stay on MM modem and last bootloader. It seems it work very well.

I can comfirm that mm modem works good for stock nougat rom. Flashed bpjj modem today and cleared all caches in twrp

After the modification my g930f switches so much better and faster between 2g 3g and 4g.....

Before i had the same problem in o2 germany network as mentioned in previous posts before.

Sometimes i even had to force it into 3g mode to be able to use the mobile internet properly, otherwise it would switch too "conservative" into 2g even in places where it was not necessary....

Sometimes i start to think that effects like this are extra built in by samsung because they want you to buy the new upcoming flagships year by year.....

I have tested this on my SM-G930F and it worked no problem.
I had to use this one time after i lost imei and 5ghz wifi

1. You will need to start on a rooted device. If you are not rooted, follow this guide to root your phone. (If you have rooted via CF Auto root, I would recommend re-rooting with the TWRP method as the root explorer apps seem to have issues that do not work properly with CF Auto Root for some people)

2.Before you continue, it is extremely important that you backup your EFS partition, even if it is corrupt. You can backup the EFS partition using THIS APP. If you skip this step, you only have yourself to blame if something goes wrong and you have no backup to restore.

3. Open 'Root Explorer' or 'Root Browser' (whichever you installed) and browse to the /efs folder located in the root of the device.

4. Inside the /efs folder, delete everything EXCEPT the 'FactoryApp' and 'prov_data' folders.

5. Reboot. Make sure it does a full reboot. When the phone boots back up, you will notice that it thinks it is dual sim, even if it is not. This is normal and nothing to worry about.

4. Put your phone into Download Mode. To do this, switch off your phone and hold 'Power' + 'Volume Down' + 'Home' until it boots to download mode.

5. Open Odin, press the 'AP' button and select the 'G93*_Factory_Binary.tar' file you downloaded/extracted earlier. Then press the 'Start' button. (If you have any errors while flashing, first make sure you are using the correct firmware for your phone. If it is still throwing errors, remove the ".md5" from the end of the file name)

6. When Odin has completed flashing the Factory Firmware, it should boot into the Factory Binary Firmware. You will get a message asking you to restart. Click restart.

7. When it has booted back up. Press the 'IMEI' button at the bottom of the screen and type *#06#. You should now see your IMEI has restored.
8. Now restore the stock firmware using the firmware you downloaded earlier. (If you're not sure how, follow this guide)

I am not able to connect to my carrier, and I live in Norway. Am I supposed to use some other CP than the nordic one?

Can you get to sammobile.com - if you can - Search for your Device and Carrier - You'd have to download the full firmware though and flash with Odin 3.12.3 (minimum version).

Thanks for the quick reply!
I can only see Norway (Telenor) which is the wrong carrier. I suppose it should work still, since there are no other options for Norway.
Does that mean I will lose my custom ROM or recovery, or can I flash only the CP?

Yes if you Flash the Full Firmware you will have to Flash TWRP img.tar 3.1.1-0 again and then you'll have to Flash the Rom that you're running again - Backup everything that you want & need to the external sd card (Including Rom zips - Gapps zips - SuperSU or Magisk - Pictures & Music etc) You will HAVE to Format Data - You should make a Nandroid before you start.

If you can only see one Carrier for your Region - Check the previous releases to see if they have the same Modem and Bootloader as you currently have on your phone.

Either flash NEE, PHN or BTU, they will all work, I am spending half my time in Norway and on Telecom and 3 those CSC have never failed me.

This thread is mainly created because some of the developed custom roms requires certain Modem or Boot Loader versions, and it also coveres the desire to update and keep the phone updated to latest Modem and Boot Loader.

     */

The files made available here are extracted from the official Samsung Firmware made available from SamMobile website, it will save you from downloading in access of 2GB of data with average download speed of 15KB.
Mainly it will be firmware specified for the EU market, as I am located here and will be using these firmwares, if you want your specific region included, I would appreciate if you would make sure to make the files available as they become updated for your region, since I don't intend to waste time on something I am not going to be using.

Since I intend not to delete any of the files, it is also essentially a resource with all the different Modem and Boot Loader versions released.

    User Guide:
    • Extract latest version of Odin to your computer.
    • Install Samsung Mobile Phone Drivers for Odin to find your device.
    • Boot your phone into download mode, by pressing [Volume down] + [Home] + [Power]
      - Once you reach the Download mode warning screen, press [Volume Up] to continue.
    • Open Odin

      • [1]Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
[2]Place the desired BL file in the [BL] slot.
[3]Place the desired CP file in the [CP] slot.
[4] Go to the Options section and make sure Auto Reboot, Re-Partition and F. reset time are unmarked.
        [5]Push [Start]
      • Once odin reports "Success..." message in the Message box, boot your phone into download mode once again and repeat step 1 - 5 once more.

Some have complained that you shouldn't flash BL and CP without flashing appropriate CSC file, how ever I have never had any issues with only flashing BL and CP.

    File versioning:
Some of you might be unaware of how the Samsung versioning of the Boot Loader and Modem is layed out, I will try to give an accurate description of what is what in the versioning.

The filename displays the version as G930FXXU1APDU, the layout of the versioning is as follows:
    • G930F - Identity of the phone supported
    • XXU1A - Identity of location [XX] - European location - Unbranded supplier branded
      [*]P - Year of version (here 2016)
[*]D - Month of version (here 4.th [April])
      [*]U - Compilation number, goes from 1 - 9 and A - Z
