My modem was upgraded and all seems to work fine but I notice a behavior that I am not sure if it was before, when I'm on LTE and using the phone call it immediately switch to 3G during the conversation and going back when I am done .
is it related to modem version or is it the carrier of my phone?

hi all. one fast question,,,my baseband is i9195xxucnj6....cm 13-----what is the latest modem file for this version?
Since you're using CM13, I would suggest to try any of the latest I've made available, latest one is the one from yesterday I9195XXUCPB2, but from my experience it takes a while to figure out which one is the best one for your device, region, provider, location, etc.

Since I didn't have anything to do this morning, they are now both pressent in my collection
I accidently destroyd the data pin on my USB connection in my S4 mini while attaching a wireless charging coil, so at the moment odin wont recignize it and there fore I am unable to test any of the new modems, untill I get a chance to replace the USB connection.

Poor you! I've been worried about breaking a pin ever since I've had my Mini as I have to put USB in at a slight angle and it's still feels like it catches a little, did you have this too? I thought it was just my phone.

Thanks for still uploading the new modems. :good:

Interesting, mine was also doing this, well I assume, as quite often I would receive some messages as soon as I touched a button on phone, it only happened a few times but too often to be a coincidence. So I thought it must be some power saving "feature" on WIFI, I wasn't bothered as it only seemed to be a max delay of 3-5min (though that's just a hunch as I never tried to test) if the phone had been inactive for a while. I also have WIFI set to "always on" & battery in "balanced" mode.

Actualy I have altered the phone, originaly I added wireless charging permanently, but a few month ago my son decided to play a bit rough with it, and the wires came lose on the USB connector.
A week ago I re-soldered the wires, and unfortunately yesterday was the first time I tried a data connection to the phone, I assumed the USB was OK since it was charging as it should, but it seems somehow one of the data pins have been damaged.

If you need to change the USB board in the phone, you have to make sure the part you order is the right revision (in mine it's revision 1.2), if they dont match the antenna chip can be of a different sort that won't work with your phones hardware. (I know it sounds strange, but thats the common conclusion between those who have tried it)

Thanks very much for the info re the rev number as I fully expect to have to replace the USB at some point (or maybe it's just that my mind is clouded by a product I was responsible for which had problems with metal fatigue on USB connector , not my fault I just had to find a solution!).

Your tutorial was interesting, I had assumed the coil was external but I like your internal solution. I might give it a try one day, if I ever get my ESD workstation set up again! Sounds like you give your S4 Mini a real hard life! :D

Yes, I noticed the CPB2 modem was from Vodafone Spain (well probably as it was the only one I could find on other file hosts sites) but it's working fine for me here in Australia so far (on TPG which now uses Vodafone 4G network).

I am on 5.1.1 (CM12.1) I do seem to suddenly get msg when I press a button after phone has been off a while, but I still get msg (eg WhatsApp) "normally" I think, so there can be a delay .... 10min? (read this can be up to 20min on wifi & 28 mobile). So I think it's normal. Actually I think I only noticed this "delay" since I got switched to Vodafone 4G, but that doesn't seem to make sense based on following link......
See http://www.technorms.com/44486/fix-delayed-notifications-issue-on-android
Doze on Marshmallow Android 6 does seem to be causing people to not get msg etc immediately, but in batches (which is exactly how it's meant to work).
So I don't think it's a modem issue

you are right....no difference between b1 and b2---they act the same---i only installed b1 just to b sure that not the modem version is the problem...but on mobile network 4g the message arrives immediately on the wifi arrives when i unlock the phone.

On newer versions of Android they have implemented power saving poll "PS-Poll" (PSMP,WMM, UPSD etc) This is because WIFI will use a lot of power when connected even if no data is sent, but mobile data will use very little power when no data is being sent, therefore the wifi will "sleep" while mobile data does not have to in order to still use low amount of battery. But polling should happen about every 500ms or so (I think). It will also depend on your router so problem may be there (is it running older protocol?)

What should happen is your phone tells your wifi router it will go to power saving mode, router then buffers data until phone makes contact again at preset interval, then sends all data packets, then repeats.

It sounds like your phone/router has an issue as it's not polling properly (not sure about mine yet, I get messages over wifi fine normally but not sure if sometimes an extended delay as I have definitely had messages only arrive when I press a button, I've even seen the wifi icon start then msg arrive).

Maybe you should start a thread with this issue, so we don't hijack this modem thread (seems like it's not a modem issue).
BTW do you run phone in power save mode? Not sure about Android but with computers running power save mode can mean a laptop never tries to make contact with router, you have to do it manually

my phone is on balanced mode----about router i dont know..but the messages arrived normally on stock 4.4.2+ baseband cnj6----after the update to b2 a saw this behaviour.its ok i will not post another thing about this issue....i only posted here because only after update i saw the behaviour and i thought that maybe someone else saw it.no problem
